One reason is the shock body is very close to the springs and needs a special compressor

To put them in a brannick style spring compressor and release the pressure. This is to minimize risk of fucking up the threads.

I tried adding some compression to the front right which helped a bit but, it still feels too soft. All the shocks are set at zero compression except for the front right which I gave about 4 clicks. Also, after measuring the ride height the right side is almost 3/4" higher than the left. I'm going to get a more accurate measurement tonight. At this point, I'm wondering if the shock is blown or if the remote reservoir has lost pressure? Your thoughts?

I'm going to call ARB in the meantime. Hopefully they might have an answer.

I have front aluminum Pelfrey skid, mid aluminum Pelfrey skid, front SSO Bumper, Warn 10-s, BajaRack UTility Rack, hi-lift jack on top, Rocky Road Sliders, ARB Twin Compressor under the hood, dual Optima batteries under the hood.... all of this really adds up and has an impact on the front ride height, which is why I ended up going a little bit over the stock height.

I agree you should adjust down to 10mm or less unless you plan to add weight, which is what we did on a friend's truck (10mm) with no weight at all, and he still was over 24in hub center to Flare on the front, although I'm assuming it has settled down a bit more after some miles. Hope this helps.

Thanks it does help, I would have been going in blind and likely backed off to 5mm based on the recommendations from ARB. I think the aussies have a different aesthetic/practical view as to how a truck should sit, lots of pics of outback vehicles are ass-high by American standards. Your intial post in this thread is the most informative one out there as for height adjustment on the BP51s.

Pretty jacked, considering I am adding weight, and starting to see the adverse effects.

So Drew, my set up will be here this week. I have similar weight as you, or at least on its way, and its distributed in a similar fassion. My Off Grid set up is the dual split system so one battery on each side. SSO bumper, winch, Mobtown sliders, steel front skid, aluminum tranny, and transfer skids, All Pro pack rack, Soft Topper, bed drawers, and RTT, and fridge occasionally. I'm not looking for much or any over two inches of lift, and I want to keep things on the plush side as far as ride is concerned. Judging from your experience should I touch the preset 20mm setting at all, or just run it like that out of the gate?
    Thanks
    Morgan

So there is like six people running this set up... Anyone else want to chime in with their experiences?

Just installed my Kit... Not the easiest install, but all in all it went well. Having a beer, or many over the next couple days. Will try and gather my data, and post it when I get a chance.

    Teaser... Super Happy!

    ***UPDATE JUN-JUL 2017***
As I mentioned before, the suspension 'tops' out too much off-road off bumps and ledges at the 20+mm setting even with the accessories I have on the front. I estimate between the extra Optima D35 battery (35lbs), ARB twin compressor and mount (20lbs), Southern Style Off-Road Slimline bumper (55lbs), Warn Platinum 10-s (75lbs), lighting and wiring (10lbs), that I probably have a total of 200lbs of additional weight on the front axle. In order to avoid damage to the shocks, I lowered to the 15mm setting. With the D29XL, and all of my accessories, I have netted 2.5in at all 4 corners. After beating the truck up for a few months at this setting, and the truck riding like a dream off-road, I've concluded this is the final adjustment for my build!

Note: actually I tweaked the 15mm setting from side to side to avoid the Taco Lean:

Loaded down in the back with all of my gear, she sits level.

So my question is, would you buy them again or something else?
I think I would but it's definitely not a slam dunk.

Definitely. They look awesome. They perform awesome. The installation and engineering is solid. The ride is adjustable. The only downside is the ride height adjustment.

    Thanks for the info.

    I'm running maybe similar weight.

    150 bumper and winch
    150 Rock sliders
    150 Skids

The rear will soon have 250ish with bumper, tire swing w. tire, dual jerry cans and camp table, and an overland rack.

How does it ride with the D29XL. My rear axle will be loaded with about 1000lbs when sleeping at night will all my gear RTT and two bodies up top.

Anyone upgrade from the older OME suspension? Likes, dislikes? Worth the extra money?

Is top out really that big of a thing with these? im thinking I may just get fox 2.5 extended front and the 2.5 ext need rear. The fox rear is over an inch more down travel than these. Don't want to have top out issues.

Ok guys, I've read through the thread and still need some guidance. I wont have any extra weight on the front for quite some time, the rear has a high clearance bumper and RRT w/ rack. It appears for stock front ends, the preload should be less than 15 if not less than 7. Can anyone provide me with some insight on this.

Kit will be in next week.

I think rereading this has a put a bit more faith in this system. I was convinced on this one before I knew it wasn't a simple threaded adjustment. Lack of adjustment on the truck had me worried. But if I can get that lift, and the ride quality I'm hearing about. I would jump on this way sooner than later.
