885 w/ 5100's + 1/2" d.s. top plate, EL096R w/ B110's, Whiteline LCA bushings, Energy Suspension poly leaf & shackle bushings, new OEM rear shackles, custom rear brakeline mount & e-brake extensions, LR UCA's, SnugTop cap
So, new 885's and extended 5100's. I went with a single 3/8" aluminum d.s. top plate spacer for the lean and I'm still sitting a hair over 1/2" lower at about 22 1/2" fender to center hub on the driver side. That's without a swaybar or skidplate, FWIW.

New KYB tophats with coil isolators, bushings, etc. Everything was carefully assembled, centering the coil into the tophat, centering the shock through the rubber bushings without forcing anything. Spring perches are seated flat on the 5100 retainer rings (lowest notch on both), the lower end of the coil is butted up against perch end or whatever you want to call it. I even measured the coils beforehand and the lengths were right on spec, and both labeled 885.

As far as I can tell rotating the spring and perch together doesn't affect height so orientation can't be it.

The only thing I noticed prior to coil & shock assembly was the coils weren't exactly centered around the shaft of the 5100's when loosely set in place on the perches. I figured once assembled and compressed with tophats that wouldn't matter.

Top nuts are tight, about 1/4" of thread showing on both. New LR UCAs, new Whiteline LCA bushings, everything torqued down on the ground.

I'm fairly positive my assembly is good so the only answers that make sense is the spring rate of the d.s. coil is off or my frame was somehow dicked up.

Is this completely out of the norm?
    Any other ideas?

Two other members recently had issues with 885s not providing the advertised height. Maybe a bad batch went out and you just got one of them.

    None yet but shopping now!
I went with the 885x's with 1/4" top plate lean spacer from @HeadStrong Off-Road and did their progressive aal w/ the overload spring in. Coilovers were assembled by them and installed by me on July 1st. Since then the suspension has settled and I am at 22 even on both sides (center of hub to fender as of the last check a couple weeks ago). I gained 2" of lift and that is obviously even with the spacer and I have no armor. I was hoping to get the full 2 1/2" of lift and didn't so now the truck has too much rake. I'll have to see if I can the 2 others who had the same issue, I'll be curious to see what they do if anything

my DCLB with 5100s and 888 coils still sits hella low, like 22.5 driver side with 1/4 spacer, gained like 1.75 from the lift, spring load is just not strong enough they say, shoulda did 886.
