New to Tacomaworld and trying yo do my homework on a 3inch Lift

From looking around on here I can tell the OME 3inch is the crowd favorite.

but my question is, Are the OME Complete Dakar leafs worth $400+ than the Toytec 2inch add-a-leafs? If so, why?

    open to all suggestions, Thanks!

I did AAL first and regretted it. Should've done Dakars from the start. Lesson learned, but hopefully I can prevent others from making the same mistake as me.

I'm going to quantify my answer by saying that if the OP hauls , tows or carrys constant weight , Dakars are a great choice

If he just wants lift and will usually have an empty bed and never tow or haul , I would suggest a progessive 3 leaf AAL

I love my Dakars. Here's my issue: I have newly discovered axle wrap, and the Dakars don't do a thing to counteract it as some suggest other leaf springs would do.

All tightened to 70lbs per another thread here. My passenger side bolts were loose, while driver's were fine. Tightening still did nothing for the wrap. :(

Again, still love the Dakars, though. My only point being, don't purchase these if you're also trying to cure axle wrap.

The Dakars do not come with the rear bushings. Order them separate. Reusing the stock ones is an option, but it's a poor option.
If your truck has ever seen salt, order new spring eye bolts. The spring bushing sleeves love to seize to the bolts, and usually need to be cut off. A sawzall with a quality metal cutting blade will get it done. Have at least 4 blades on hand.
The bolts are not usually in stock at the dealer. Get them in advance.

Keep in mind, with the lift, your driveshaft will be near the end of its optimum travel, and will vibrate at 60ish MPH. A driveshaft spacer will fix it, if you don't wheel. There are shops out there who will properly modify your current driveshaft, to compensate for this.

    Another yes.
I tried the 2" AAL, a 1 1/2" AAL, finally the 3 leaf AAL, did not like any for my truck which had lots of armor and bumpers and gear stored in the bed all the time (heavy)

Broke down and got the OME Dakars and the world is sunshine and roses now.
Save your time and effort and get the good stuff right off the bat.

Ive got the same issue. Im looking at getting their AAL to try and fix it.

To the OP I recommend doing the same, save yourself the trouble of doing it later. Not to mention it will increase your payload capacity.

Please post up or PM me how it works once installed. I thought about that, and there's also cheap helper springs from auto stores, but I'm leaning towards the ATO traction bar over the Bud Built one.

To the other posts, I have not encountered vibes yet, either.

Thanks for all the input, I really appreciate it.

I dont haul much, or carry much weight in the bed hardly ever.
Just want to add aggression to the truck and wan to keep a smooth ride.

Would a 3 leaf mini pac be a better option than the AAL?

    enough to go over stuff
The dakars are great. Mine hold up a plate bumper, full size spare, gas tank skid, bed rack for spare, a soft top bed cover. Even with a full load of camping gear and bikes there is almost no sag. I have had 1,000 punds of gravel in the bed with very little sag.

Here is a photo offroading with the bed loaded for a weekend of camping. There is gas and water, camping gear, bikes on the back. three people in the cab, sliders, skids, rear plate bumper. I had no problems offroading and flexing that weekend.
