Looking to replace lifting blocks with a leaf pack, I'm on a budget. I don't want to spend 1000 on rear shocks, will the icon 2.0s work? It says its only a 1.5 inch lift. The 2.5 with rezzys are 5x the cost. I plan on putting the 2.5 without the reservoirs on the front, I'm afraid the truck won't be level.

Tl/dr will the icon 2.5 front coilivers and aluminum 2.0 rear shocks with Dakar leafs work?

OME shocks work perfectly for a couple hundred.

    So do Bilstein's B110s.

What has droop? I didn't realize the ome struts were that cheap, might be the route I take.

With a little Frankensteining of the rear, 12" 5125's fit and function pretty well

There are quite a few options of rear shocks to run with the OME Dakar. You can run the OME nitrocharger sport rear shocks. They were designed to be used with the OME Dakar pack but have a conservative extended length so will limit the droop of the pack. The upside of that is, since they are the limiting factor, longer brake lines are not necessary. Other than that you can run the RCD/Bilstein extended length 5100's, the extended length ADS's, Fox's and Icon rear shocks each have a longer extended and collapsed length, since that is the case you will have to run longer rear brake lines and may have to modify your factory bump stops in order to hit those before you fully collapse the shock. There are also the Bilstein 5160's which have an extended length as well and come with their own brake line extension brackets. You could also run the Bilstein 5125's but since those are a universal shock you would have to look at the extended and collapsed lengths and see which ones you prefer. Also, since those are universal, they would not have vehicle specific valving.

Appreciate the reply, this is very informative, looks like the ome struts make sense in this case. Since you're here, if I bought ome front shocks would they be level with the rear? I only have a 4 banger with no steel bumper or accessories. I was thinking icons since they make a cheaper version, but it seems like a pain to adjust, do I need to compress the springs before I adjust the height? Thanks!

These are my stock leafs, do they look unusually flat? There's only 30k on them

I just replaced mine at 29,000 miles. Brand new, they don't have much of an arc. That's how they're made. Add 200 lbs, and they're inverted.

It really comes down to which coil you use with them. The OME shocks, on their own, do not provide lift.

It is always hard to say exactly how much lift you will gain from any one coil because so many factors come into play like condition of the factory components, trim of truck, and any add-ons or additional options you may have. With that being said here is a link to our spec page so you can see what the average lifts are from the various coils on the different struts available. The spec’s on the Bilsteins are with them being set at the zero notch setting.

    http://www.headstrongoffroad.com/uploads/1/1/8/4/11846658/lift_guide_shock_and_coil_selection.pdf

I have also included a list of coil specifications below so you can compare them side-by-side. A 5mm difference in length equates to approx. 1/2” difference in lift.

OME 883 coils 590 lbs spring rate 375 mm in length
OME 884 coils 590 lbs spring rate 390 mm in length
OME 885 Coils 590 lbs spring rate 395 mm in length
OME 886 coils 660 lb spring rate 402 mm in length
OME 887 coils 590 lb spring rate 400 mm in length
