After the lift they may be steeper, so toe and caster changes.

Swap to rugged trails, no alignment needed. Hell nails and other road debris bend and run away at the sight of them. Cant wear them out.

I had mine aligned three times to get the caster where I wanted it, and so it carved optimally. I don’t know what other people do.

I know that, some were implying they do to install the lift. Why?

I needed an oil change, so I took my truck to the jiffy lube, and the tech came out and said, "hey, we didn't change your oil", and i was like "okay thanks".

Honestly- what is the point of this thread?

How was what he said off topic? Sounds to me like you're asking a question and then reacting like a douchebag when someone gives you an answer you don't want to hear.

No, you don't NEED an alignment after lifting. You also don't NEED to have your wheels balanced when you get new tires.

Marking the cams will do little to nothing for you; there is so much more that goes into it. Your caster needs to be adjusted, as well as your toe, and camber.

In his rush to slam you with a zinger he used the wrong word.

    Should say alignment.

There is no debate on whether you have to have it re aligned after a lift. It is fact, not opinion, that you will not be aligned correctly after changing geometry during lift.

Any suspension changes that alter the static ht of the vehicle, up or down, changes the alignment from what it was before you started.

Only way tech comes out and says we didn't have to do anything is

    1) you were out of whack before, and the changes corrected that. In that case, never buy a lottery ticket again; you just sucked up all your luck.

    2) the tech is a lazy goober. It happens.

    3) the alignment equipment hasn't been calibrated in a couple years. Like your old table saw that gives you 'close enough' cuts. So you're still not aligned.

So the real question isn't should it be aligned. That's a simple yes.

The real question is if the shop you use is any good?

I don't believe in alignments, alignments are a government conspiracy like chemtrails and a round planet

if eyeballing it was good enough for Fred Flinstone then it's good enough for me

after all, taking apart the entire suspension is certainly not going to affect anything

My first, won't be my last for sure...she believes a 4 wheel alignment post lift is required as well so she doesn't feel the shimmy...

Definitely get an alignment if you don't want to buy new tires in the very near future.

Just to reinforce: An alignment after a front end lift on an IFS vehicle is not an option. It's essential. 100% immediately required. Like after installation you drive gingerly straight to the nearest shop, back/residential roads only, preferably no more than a couple miles away, while keeping it under 25. No "i'll do it tomorrow", no beer runs first, no hitting the Taco Bell drive through on the way. It's part of the job and you're not finished until you do it.

People have shredded their tires down to the belts within a couple hundred miles of driving out of alignment. It's like asking if you need to torque your lug nuts after changing a tire or if two-finger tight with a 3/8 ratchet is good enough because you don't want to walk all the way back to the garage to get a proper breaker bar.

I would lean more towards it being 100% required...that is if you value things lasting a while and driving a safe, comfortable vehicle. So I guess that's just my opinion, and it really comes down to what you think is required or not required.
