    back to bone stock.
i voted OME because that's what i bought. i like the lower cost. it leaves me room in my budget to buy UCAs. i went with the 884 springs with NO spacers trying to target a mere 2" lift. like i was on prom night, i just dove right in...i forgot to pull out a tape measure to measure my stock height. big DUH!..i dont know what i gained. but my steering is looser. no wandering, but loose feeling. i looked at my alignment #'s and the best the guy could do on camber was a +0.7 on both sides. so with a set of total chaos, i will spend the same money (+/-) as the toytec ultimate.

both lifts are neck and neck in the runoff. very exciting!

I'm also looking at getting the toytec ultimate for 2k. looks to be a solid package. Is the quality of the ultimate any different?

A few additions to make me feel cool.
The one trim pack goes on the drivers side for the OME kit. Between the collar on the shock and the cup that holds the bottom of the coil. PM me if you have install questions. Its not that hard to do yourself with some jack stands and a good floor jack.

I cut some wires here. Added some wires there.
I read this whole thing and I'm still left with questions. How is either kit, or at least the rear end portion, effected by having the AAL TSB done? Do I even need the whole kit or just the front coilovers?

The rear tsb done by the factory will provide about .5 inch of lift.
If you want more, we have a TSB AAL to go with the .5 making it a full 2 inches in the rear.

    Did that answer your question?

The kit comes with new longer shocks, 3 degree shims for the rear, longer ubolts, front diff drop, etc. You still the entire kit.

Ok, but I thought I didn't need the front diff drop with the 3" lift? Just when I thought I was getting somewhere you tripped me up. My last car was a Ford Focus, I'm very new to this.

Not needed, that's more for 6". However, a driveline carrier bearing drop kit would be a good idea. This is a ~$12 package that is basically a few washers and bolts that help correct the angle of the drive shaft near the middle of your truck. When guys talk about getting vibrations, this is the piece that tends to correct the issue. I installed this at the very start, and I notice very small buzzes at 11mph and 60mph, which I assume would be much worse without this kit.

Sorry to confuse you. The diff drop kit usage issue is a huge debate on the internet, but when it comes down to it, Toytec Lifts does RECOMMEND the use of the diff drop kit at the full 3" of lift! Which is why it is included in the Ultimate kit.

Ok, everybody is saying the do, like, 90% street driving and 10% off road and I would agree. But what if during that 10% you had a tendency to get a little bat shit crazy, what would be the better option? I read in an earlier post there was a size difference in the shock which creates a heat issue or something? I guess the better question would be if the percentages were reversed and you did 90% offroad would it change your choice?

ahhhh i don't know what to do....i was getting my heart all set on the OME kit, when i came across a deal i think is too good to be true....i found some guy who has a brand new ultimate kit, with brand new LR UCAs that he's willing to sell me for 1250/shipped....he never even opened the boxes, bought it a year ago, but never put it on his truck, since then he's upgraded to a bigger truck and doesn't need em' anymore plus his wife is sick of it laying around so he really needs to sell....you think i'd be dumb not to buy this off him???
