Hey guys, I recently purchased my first toyota- '99 Tacoma Xtracab v6 Trd 4x4. I bought a lift on craigslist which included :
OME nitrocharger shocks with 883 coils
OME dakar leaf springs W/AAL and some bilstein 9" shocks (5100?)

My question is if I run the 883 coils and the dakar's with the AAL will the ride be too stiff? I'm also worried that there won't be enough down travel in the front because I don't have a bumper/winch. The Leaf springs have 40k mi on them and the 883's have 8k mi on them if that helps.

Any input would be appreciated, Thanks!

The billies are probably 5125s if they look longer. But yes that ride is gonna be a little stiff 883s are stout. My 882s are a little rough and I have lots of bumper weight.

Dakars are firm without the AAL..

I would think the ride would suck out back for sure if you're not weighed down.

Thanks guys, I think I'll remove the AAL and try to find some 881's for the front.

arb bumper, 3 inch spacer lift (it needs to go!), 3 inch OME lift,
I have 883s up front and an arb brushguard, and it does not ride like a caddy but it is fine. It would ride better if I had a winch up front.

Im honestly not super concerned with ride quality, I'm more worried about there being little to no down travel because the springs will not be compressed without the added weight of a bumper/winch

dents and missing bits, built in the Gravel garage, hillbilly trained mechanic…
I am running 883s with 5100 Bilsteins, and an ARB bumper, just put the OME Dakars w/AAL on the rear a bit stiff up front but I carry a bit of weight- topper, toys and camping gear. So it's not oo bad, still looking for a winch and that would help. But it is a truck after all. Alot smoother than my Ram 2500 CTD, or my 85.
