Old man emu medium leaf springs say 400 lbs capacity... this can't be right. Right? Bed Rack =100lbs RTT =200. My fat ass =200- so I should not go wheeling with all this stuff in the back? (Not to mention 50lb cooler empty) high lift, gas cans.........

I think you should be fine. I used to carry 600 lb + off road with just my AAL (when I had it). Just my opinion.

I'd hope that when a leafpack manufacturer advertises added weight, they refer to stuff currently in or on the bed, as is commonly added and the cause to need a better pack in the first place
    ie, 200lb shell
and not 200lb person, as they're in the front seat at the time.
Yes, they can temporarily be over the leafpack, sleeping in a tent at night. I'd hope that won't cause a wear effect over time.
But any more sag from that is probably fine as it's temporary and stationary

heavier duty may mean more lift

Only time I've seen people go beyond what's commonly available as medium or heavy, is custom from Deaver because they have a house on the back.

I have RXT. Got a deal on them. Said to be better than OME. And adjustable. Currently set at high with weight in back. Thought about trying medium.
Might be more travel. But I don't have long shocks and relocate to fully maximize that.

I think the idea behind it is preventing sag while driving, with weight.
Better leaf packs tend to stay the same height, or sag minimally, when adding weight
vs stock pack will compress a lot, and lose a lot of clearance. Shell on a stock pack is probably gonna cause bro lean. (or cage, RTT, etc.)

    YouTube video idea

could be more efficient to cook in the RTT wheeling while co-pilot drives

base might not handle that dynamic load well though

I ran mediums with a similar setup without any issue. I added the leaf to make them heavy’s when I added a rear bumper with swingout though.
