can some one tell me if the ride quality is any different from the 885 coils to the 887?
I am thinking about getting 887 (will not be adding any bumpers, winches etc) just looking to get 3inchs

Ome 887s, dakars, lr uca, sliders, konig countersteer,
I would go with 885s.. reason?.. Dakars will settle some.. despite what some say... unless you plan on doing the Dakar aal I would suggest staying with 885.. get the top plate spacer.. then when the rear settles.. have a different option than buying more items.. I have 885s with top plate spacer Dakars in rear.. granted I'm a prerunner.. but I had 25 inches from hub to fender front and back.. two weeks later Dakars settled and had half inch bro lean.. took top plate spacer out and now slight rake but mostly level84e076cc55fba3dc95364e03e2d336df_a9284f21b247d68dfb134aa4f63d4030f5bb2cc3.jpg

I will say that if you are going to carry constant weight on the dakars you should get the add a leaf that goes with them. I installed 5100's with 885's in front and dakar leafs in the back last weekend. She sits level or has slight rake. Haven't measured hub to fender yet and the ground in my pictures is sloped up towards the front of the vehicle. I am a 4cyl. 4x4. Focus on the wheel well differences in the two pics as the tires are the same.

I have followed your dakar thread and did some research before lifting. Thought I would be well off this way, but guess I need to add a plate bumper if I want the weight handling I was looking for. After going with 885's up front and dakars in the rear it seems that if I carry the weight in the back I want I will be level or bro stance. I think I will put in the add a leaf before I start my journey this spring.

Dang it, wish y'all had posted this before I order my OME kit with 887s an no AAL. Sounds like I may need to order that integrated winch mount bumper before I planned to, or add the AAL before the kit ships. Oh well, maybe it'll work out better with my DCLB....

You have a 4cyl access cab , the 885's will lift you higher than a V6 DC

I agree, but the standard dakars only seem to be level with the 885's and no bumper, maybe a slight rake. Once I add the leer 180cc, tools, oil, fuel, spare tires and sleeping platform I think the add a leaf from OME will be needed to keep some rake. That will all be close to 600lbs in the back extra. I am a little conservative, but would rather that than not.

ETA: Should add here I knew I would be reaching the limits of the rear suspension. Adding the add a leaf and adding weight to the front should equal things out nicely.

K , but I have V6 DCLB 4x4 , 885's and the regular Dakar pack , Leer 100RCC commercial cap and about 250 lbs of tools for about 450 lbs of constant weight and I have 1 1/2" of rake but every truck is different

Does anyone mismatch springs left to right? Seems the specs are the same between 885 and 887, except the 887 is 5mm taller. Wouldn't it make sense to run the 887 left and 885 right to keep the truck level? I understand people use the trim packer but that isn't an option with 5100s. I wouldn't want two different height top plate spacers either, since the left and right would top out or bottom out at different heights. The OCD in me would not be able to stand knowing that the left and right wheel sit with different ranges of travel. ;)
