Hi all, I am running a 3" OME coil lift on my double cab and am trying to achieve more lift out of it without replacing everything, is there anything I can add to the system I'm currently running. I am considering a 4crawler 1" bodylift and then taller tires. I also know I could add a block in the rear but will then be racked as I don't know anything to add to the front other than an adjustable coil that isn't going to get me more than the 3" anyway. Just wondering whats out there if anything that I don't know about. Thanks

3" suspension lift is the max you should really do without going to a bracket style lift (like pro comp, etc...).

Your 4x4's CV angles are stretched (angle wise, not length) as they are at 3". I hope you have a diff drop kid installed with the 3" you already have.

You could do the body lift, for a little extra tire clearance, which IMO, is the ONLY semi reasonable reason for a body lift.

But why do you want the extra lift? To fit bigger tires? Are you wheelin with it, or is it mainly a daily driver/city truck? If you're wheelin', I'd advise against lifting it further just to fit bigger tires. For Off road, you want the *minimum* lift that will allow your tires to function. I see guys running a 6" lift with 33's. Not only is that funny looking and unnecessary, but all it really does is make your truck more top heavy (i.e. bad for wheelin').

You should be able to easily fit 33's on 3" of lift (maybe with minor fender well pounding), and here's a thread on how to fit 35's on a 3" lift:

thanks for the info, I have the truck for some highway use but its main function is mountain roads. I wouldn't say I "wheel" it but a lot of mountain use. I did that lift and it just doesn't seem lifted. I think what I'm gonna do first is mount some 255-80-17 which is a 33x10 and see how it looks. Right now im running 265-75-16s, so that will give me another 1.5". If I still need more then I may go ahead with the 1" body lift. Thanks

3" doesn't seem lifted? Hmmm, I think you should part next to a stock truck and think about that statement :)

265/75's are exactly the tire I'm running (BFG all terrains), which is a 31.9" tire. Believe me, a 32" tire will be more than adequate for anything you do (tread pattern not withstanding). I have bilstein 5100's set in the middle clip right now (~1" lift), and I barely get any rub.

I assume you realize those tires are different wheel sizes, so you're getting new wheels, too?

I would look through some of the wheel/tire threads and see what other guys are running as far as wheel/tire/lift combos and find the look you're going for and try to copy that as best you can.

Oh C'mon. Go to 285/75/16s or 285/70/17s. That wider tire will grip way better than a 255. You'll need some wheel spacers or new wheels though. I believe you're looking for 4" or less of backspacing

LOL, I know the 265s are more than adequate, I've run them on a 3rd gen 4runner and now on my taco, I am running the km2s and they tear it up. As far as me being happy with my truck, I am, It performs great, with that being said, just want it to sit a little taller, that's all. I guess what I'm getting at is its more for looks than performance and with that i'll also gain a little more ground clearance for deep snow etc. and I think I'll achieve that with the 255s. Yeah I know they are different wheel sizes, I have a set of hyper silver tundra wheels in 17s that I will be mounting tires on soon. I know the look im going for was just curious as to any other options I may have other than what I listed above. Thanks for your input, do you have a build thread or can you post a pic of your truck?

tempting, but I think the 285s might rob too much power turning em, and in my experience in a lot of mud and snow the narrow tires pull a little better. I might go that route though because I was thinking a spacer with the tundra wheels and 255s. Good idea, 1stTime I'll consider that!

Don't really have a build thread, as (currently) it's not much of a "build" per se as I only have 5100's on it at this point...

I'm getting a nice little present from the UPS man tomorrow, with King coilovers and Total Chaos uniball A arms, so I'll def post some pics of that when it's built...

Here's how my truck sits now: Not much of a "lift", but it works. For wheelin you want the minimum lift necessary to fit your tires (lower center of gravity). That usually means a little trimming here and there to fit the 33's or even 35's like that thread I posted...

I'm on wheels with 4" BS. I still rub the frame and when wheeling was rubbing the washer bottle. Pinch weld mod is a must. I also trimmed about a 1/2" off my bumper valance. I relocated my washer fluid bottle to under the hood. Now I only rub the frame which I'm ok with

Can always use a half inch wheel spacer in front. I haven't got that large of a tire yet. I did use them all the way around on my wife's 4runner. She's up +3" and 33's. It's tight but went 1" spacers all around and no rubbing.
