I'm interested in the full OME setup and plan on adding an off-road bumper and winch at a later date. My question is: if I get the 886 coils now and wait a year to get the bumper/winch, will the ride be unbearably hard until then? Anyone else do this?

I know some people have bought them because they were getting a bumper/winch 2-3 months after the bumper install..

    I would wait.

Well maybe I'll just splurge and get the bumper sooner.

I have 5100s w/886s, and went from having a plate bumper back to OE. Yes, it is noticeably firmer, but I haven't had an issue with it being unbearable. I would still suggest that you wait to put them on until you have the extra weight of the plate bumper.

Doe you get a true 3" lift with this combo?

Where did you set (or have to set) the 5100's to get 3"?

I run the 886's on my truck without a replacement bumper. It rides really well once your remove the front sway bar. I didn't want to blow money having to buy more than one set of coils.

I don't recommend running 886s on 5100s but you run them at 0.
