I'm still in process of finding parts/kit for a lift on my 1st Gen. A quick search here didn't find what I was looking for. Forgive me, I'm a complete noob when it comes to suspensions/lifts.

Should I get the OME greasable shackles or will stock ones be fine to use again? I can save around $100 without getting shackles.

Also, the front coils have me totally confused. Most of the pre-made kits say either heavy or light loads. The heavy kits come with 881 and the light with 880. But my understanding is they all have the same weight rating until you get 883 and that the 880,881 and 882 have different heights only. Am I right or am I totally off on this? I've read tons of threads and dealers descriptions and only get more and more confused.

Truck is 02 v6 5 speed xtra cab, stock weight

What I plan to do with the truck is run either 32 or possibly 33s in the future. I do go off road some, not as much as I want to lol, I won't be rock crawling or doing anything crazy. Just enjoy getting out the middle of no where and hope to do some 'overlanding' one of these days.

My current thoughts are to run 882 with the Dakar leaf packs in rear with the OME shocks on all 4 corners. I do want the truck level and trying to get close to 3 inches in the front.

Any help and guidance will be appreciated, and before someone tells me to talk to Headstrong, I have been in contact with them about the coils on front but only got back the generic "this coil is this long, and this truck might get this much"

Sorry again for being a noob and asking common questions again. And yes, I have looked thru the OME thread on 1st gens and still get more confused

If I had the option, I would use them. Seems to be a great option. If you are on a budget... You can always add later man

@tntacomaguy you can certainly run the factory shackles and save some money. If you are not going to have any additional weight on the front end I think you would be much happier with the ride out of 881 coils with a 10MM Enhancer Kit. This will put you around 2.5" of lift and clear 32s great.
