    Price.

No difference in performance between the 2.

Downside to OME - bright yellow, clunk when you go over any bumps, price.

I run the 5100's with 887's and dakars with 5100's in the rear from low-range as well. Its a smoother ride on rough pavement than stock OR suspension. Save a few bucks and put it towards some wheels and tires.

They stand by it for sure. I had an issue with my 887's and they addressed it very swiftly.

Tried ordering these from Marie @Headstrong and was told they wouldn't have them or be getting them for a long time, about a month ago. Was disappointed and went with 2.0 non reservoir icon. Seems like a bunch of people are getting those resi fox shocks from them though. Even more disappointed now haha.

I can say that I went with the 6112s on the 3rd notch (so not overly preloaded) with the coils that are shipped with them - and I love the ride. I have taken large curbs, and done about 40mph on the beach and they just eat up everything and maintain control. They literally seem like twice the diameter of the 5100s.

With my OME888 coils I went with the 90021 (soft) shocks... couldn't be any happier.

I also went with the full/complete kit package.

No, the 6112s are not threaded. They're notched.

Thinking the same thing. Went to the Chop shop here locally and they said night and day difference between the 6112-5160 setup compared to 5100's ???

Ok last Q for now ...are you putting the setting at 0 on the 5100's with the OME 888's for more travel ?

Its not recommended to use any other setting than zero with that setup. Alot of guys say its too much preload tension on the shock.

By picking the 5100 up a notch your pre loading the spring. If you do a search, im pretty sure theres a thread kicking around about a guy snapping the shaft of the 5100 because he preloaded aftermarket springs.

im not sure how more descriptive i can get with out sounding like a dick. Pre loading would be when you go up a notch on a 5100, putting more pressure on the spring to stay compressed. (Within the full extension limit of the shock.) Creating "tension" so when you hit a pothole the spring is going to push twice as fast down the absorber creating tension against the shaft and valving of the shock causing things to snap. It may or may not happen to you but as I said before I do recall this happening to some one with this setup.

Ok you just accomplished "dick " lol just kidding.
Now that my friend is a pretty complete explanation :).
I was going with the 0 setting because that's what everyone said, however I also with the new knowledge you imparted on me I understand why now.
Pretty thorough discription of why and how !
    Thank you Wirenut
