I've got the basic OME suspension on my 2007 Tacoma with 885 coils (not extra weight on the front of the truck) and Dakar rear leaf springs (with one leaf removed).

With the exception of a minor drivetrain vibration I've not quite been able to resolve, I've been happy with the ride quality, etc. for my usage.

Right now the rear is still a fair amount higher than the front even with a leaf removed.

I'd like to fit 285's on the truck but I'm a whisper away from rubbing with my 265's (front only at full steering lock). I figure I need to raise the front of the truck another inch for sure and that might help level things out with the rear.

Can someone point me toward an option to raise the front for 285's without altering things too much?

2 busted CV boots, 1 leaky tire, 2 torn seat covers, and crappy wipers
Will need to go with 887 coils, CMC, and a little plastic trimming for 285's

you can run 285s on OME 885 coils. I did it and many others have as well.

I know you can run 285s on 885 coils but the OP is asking to raise up a little more with minor altering... Just answering his question

you don’t really want the truck to sit level, otherwise you will sit nose high with weight in the bed.

285s with fit with 885 coils. You will just have to CMC and trim plastic to make them fit at full stuff

I hear ya. I was just saying he didn’t have to do anything to make them fit (other than trim, which he would have to do regardless).

I may just stick with 275's as I don't think I want to mess with CMC. I just need to figure out if I can do that with 885's and get away with only a plastic trim or whether I'll move to 887's. Thanks for the replies!

When talking about those two springs (and excluding normal ride height), the amount of lift you have will not change of the tire rubs or not. If those tires rub with 885s (and I’m not saying they will because I don’t know) they will rub with 887s just the same throughout the suspension travel.

when you lift an IFS truck in the front, you are essentially reducing the about of down travel you have but you will still have the same amount of up travel.

If you don’t have your tires stuffed in the wheel well much, it might be a different story.

no cab mount chop or trimming is needed, just a upper control arm that has adjustable castor and a proper alignment. the SPC's do a great job of giving you high castor numbers with a lift. depending on the wheels you have, you may also need spacers.

I have BBS-RD wheels which were offered through Toyota/TRD back in the day as an upgrade. They have more positive offset than factory wheels.
