I know this had been beaten to death ready. I'm want to add about 2" up front. I'm looking for a soft ride. As in doing 20 to 30 mph up a rough mountain canyon. So I planned on doing 5100s on the lowest setting and getting longer springs. From what I've read, OME sounds like the better option than the eibach for softness. I dont have any extra weight or plan on adding any anytime soon to the front end. I spoke with bilstein and toytech and they both say that they dont reccomend OME coils for the 5100. Is it just cause Billy and Eibach are buddys? Obviously it's been done 1000s of times though. What's everyone's thoughts?

I plan on getting stuff ordered in the next few weeks.

This is the one I plan on getting. From what I have read and heard on it they are more comfortable then the off-road suspension if you pick the right load. I’ll find out in a bit and report back but it will be awhile since I just dropped too much cash on a g36k by tommy built

Very new to this and also interested. Anyone know the comparison between the OME set up and just doing Bilstein 5100s to the front and back?

I’ve been recommended to go with the Bilsteins, but want to know if anyone has experienced riding on both.

looking forward to the outcome of this as well. I've been looking at so many lift options since i got the truck in November. Not sure when I'll be pulling the trigger on a set, but I know I'm on a budget and I'd like just a slight lift and leveling of the truck.

I also have 5100’s on ome 884 and the ride is noticeably better than the stock bilsteins. A bit firmer but in a good way.

I have the Eibach Pro Truck Lift kit on my Tacoma, and I love it! The front shocks are Ride Height Adjustable, and they are paired with a 2-inch lift spring. So you achieve a 2-inch lift at the very bottom setting. I can honestly say the ride quality is fantastic. It's smooth on the highway, but still absorbs all of the imperfections of the trails while driving off road. I definitely recommend it!

Hey man, have you considered Dobinsons? I went from an OME medium kit on my 2017 Tacoma to the Dobinsons 2" kit and felt a big improvement in ride quality. The Dobinsons kits have softer valved struts and shocks which I think give them a better ride. They've also been around in Australia and overseas for a long time. Check em out.

“Is it because they are buddies?”

Yes. Bilstein and Eibach have a contractual agreement that they recommend each other’s products. In the case of Bilstein, the warranty is void when used with any aftermarket coil that isn’t Eibach.

    Does it matter?

No. Pick your pick, and drive.

Headstrong has the bilstein/OME kit. Definitely on the shortlist for my 2” lift

That's what I was wondering is if they had a relationship as to why they only referred them. For what I want, sounds like OME is the better option anyways.

    885s just under 2 inches

887s with LR UCAs just over 2 inches20190101_120852.jpg

I changed springs and UCAs to add a little more height and have more alignment options.

Both sets ride extremely well, smooth without nose diving under braking, absorbs bumps while recovering quickly. It's a soft ride with firm control if that makes sense.

OME is not soft. Been there done that with the medium kit. They preload the shit out of those springs to get the lift. Mine was so stiff even with a lo pro bumper and winch that I went thru my SPC ball joints in under a year. I would run Eibach or Bilstein. Make sure you get progressive valved shocks

SPC (Light Racing) UCAs. They seem to have the most adjustability for the cost.
    20190101_102036.jpg
I got them on Amazon last month for $460, looks like they've bumped up the price since then to be more in line with vendors like Headstrong and Wheelers.

I was considering JBA but I couldn't get over the bright red color.
