They last as long as stock suspension if your set up is right, of course if you wheel, that obviously decreases life expectancy.

Icon. I have kings with Dakars love it.
OME is nice but you can't compare to icon king or fox.
Its like comparing apples and oranges.

take the oranges. From what ive read 60k miles or so per rebuild, use will determine if its more or less.

That's what I'm thinking. The rebuild cost is about 1/2 the cost of new nitrochargers, so I'm not too concerned about that. And losing my vehicle for a week or 2 for rebuild in a few years is not an issue.

The 20% off deal is what's really pushing me over the edge toward the Icons. Just trying to decide now on if I should try the Icon AAL, or just jump straight into the Dakars.:notsure:

Satoshi'd grill. blacked out badges. aftermarket sound system. De-chromed and color matched. OME 885s + Dakars with 3rd leaf removed. LR UCAs. Scs stealth 6 with 285 duratracs. BAMF sliders
Dakars. They are awesome. If you can swing it go with icons. Heres my experience: intalled a full OME kit about a year ago, great setup, tough as nails, but for dropping $1500 on suspension i wasn't completed satisfied with the ride. Yeah, yeah, its a truck i know, but its a small modern truck with IFS, it should ride nice on road. So 6-8 months go by and i cave and buy some used Icons coilovers. I threw them on and i was very impressed with the improvement in ride quality. Now the icons are back off waiting for a rebuild and new springs, hoping to go icon all the way around soon. If you are willing to spend extra and are even considering going with Icons over OME (i was at first and i went with OME ) then go with icon. If you dont you probably wont be satisfied and you will end up upgrading like I did and many others have done.

I got a firm quote on extended travel non-res Icons today, with LR UCAs and Dakars with all the necessary hardware. $600 more than a straight OME setup. No brainer for me, no regrets, gonna get Icons! I really appreciate the input from everyone!

I'm planning on 2.5" in the front, and keeping the factory rake. I'll be towing/hauling a lot of the time, and don't want the bro lean. Probably gonna run 32" tires - not decided on 16's or 17's yet.

So what was the quote? 1800-1900 dollars-ish? Where did you get that quote from?

Dakars are Old Man Emu leaf springs that'll replace your factory leafs. Here is info on average lift heights from these beefier springs:

There's not enough bandwidth for what's happening.
Good choice. I've been through two sets of OME front shocks / coils. Currently running Icons all around with Dakars ... should have went that way from the start.

Both Demello and MetalTech 4X4 are offering Icon at 20% off for Cyber Monday. They have threads in "Group Buys" and "Deals and Coupons."

Nice choice with the Icon's. They don't even compare to the ride OME has. As far as rebuilding, you wouldn't need to very frequently but depends on your use. Plus side is they're essentually brand new when you do.....small price to pay!

I have Dakars with nitro charger sports on all 4 corners with 886's and will be transitioning over to Icon. Not enough travel with those shocks. Just changed out the rears to icon and picked up 4.5" of droop. Fronts are next.
