This post will show the progress on the modifications and add-ons I do to my new Limited 2013 Taco.

This build is a work in progress and will be updated as new projects are completed.

Below are the specs of my taco:

• Type: Limited
• Bed: Short
• 4x4: Yes

Below are photos of the truck as I got it new from the dealer (Before any mods).

 

Project: Added builtin Motorcycle Chock to the bed.

This Chock is bolted into the bottom of the bed with 1/4" steel plates underneath the bed for added support

 

Project: WeatherTech Side window deflectors (In channel), Hood Deflector and removing the wheel flaps

These were easy to put in and make the truck look so much better.

* I have not installed the Hood Deflector yet because I am waiting to see if I can trade my hood for a Scooped one first.

 

Projects Suspension: Bilstein 5100 Front and Rear with OEM 4 Leaf Pack, Firestone Ride-Rite and On-Board Air

Front and Rear 5100 is done. While I was down there I also tightened up the U-Bolts to 75 ftlbs since it was about 30ish when I tested it with my digital torque

 

Project: Satoshi Grille

This was a PITA and is not near as easy as the 2011 and older grille version.

But it looks nice to me and it took me about 4 days (working on it about 2 hours a day)

 

Project: Oil Catch Can

After reading around, I decided to place my can near the front left tire inside the wheel well

 

Project Lighting: FX-R Stage III Retrofit, Color Matched Head Light Mod, Front Hella 500 HID, Rear Bed Lights

Converting the Hella's over to HID's was not that hard, basically I took a 6000K H3 HID Kit and placed it into the Hella Housing with only a little "Molding" of the back Hella with a heat gun to fit the back of the bulb.

* The FX-R Stage III Retrofit and CMHLM is not complete yet.

 

Project: Power Lock on the Tailgate

 

Project Misc: License Plate Covers, Air Filter, Removed Secondary Air Filter, Paint engine cover, ImMrYo Rear-View Mirror Lift Bracket, Fuse Panel Mount, and Center Console Organizer

 

Project: ScanGauge 2

I am testing locations to see where I want to place this thing, First I am testing on the right side of the steering wheel under the coin/key/what ever holder that is.

* Update: I have now moved it to under the left front tray to the top right headliner. This will be its permanent location

 

Project: Reserved

 

Did it on my 12 also big PITA....haha

 

Dude your truck is nice and how does the sorted feel I mean is it durable and feel like real leather

 

I think it “closely” looks like leather and everyone who has been in my truck so far said Wow Leather Seats and didn’t have a clue and it "appears" to be durable so far LOL

 

Just completed more projects.

 

Sad News but I will be selling my new Tacoma and getting a F-150 with Eco (with the max tow package) so I can tow up to 11,300lbs.
