Could use some help with the potential lift plans...I've been going back and forth on various lifts and have settled on the front with the OME 887 and Nitrochargers. As for the rear, I'm between Dakars and a progressive AAL like the ones from Headstrong. I plan on continuing to use my truck as my daily driver ,4 door TRD OR, I want to maintain a decent ride but also have plans to add a roof top tent with mild exploring, hunting, etc.. What would you recommend, the Dakar pack now or just use the AAL and potentially switch to the full leaf pack in the future? I've been reading as much as possible but still torn so if anyone has used the options I've been looking at I would be appreciative. Also should I plan on getting the differential drop? Shims? Also planning on doing the UCA with light racing's but would like to know if you guys had to use anything else for your lifts.

Get Dakar leafs now. Why spend the extra money later. Diff drop not needed. A lot of people are running without it. I didn't have to use shims either. I have Light Racing UCA's. From other people's experience they didn't have to buy them but I caught a good deal so I bought them. Get extended brake lines as well. That's about all I could think of. I'm on 887's and Dakars. I'm sure someone is gonna ask but I'm on KO2 275/70/17's...

Trucks looks awesome. I was told with the Nitrochargers that extended brake lines wouldn't be needed since the shock would limit the travel, untrue?

Between the two options I have been leaning more toward the Dakars but admit it's been a daily switch. Basically I think I would go with the Headstrong full OME kit with the 887, Dakars and the Light Racing UCA to ensure factory alignment. Would it be worthwhile to run the Dakars as is, remove the 3rd leaf or remove the overload?

You can get away without changing the brake lines if you don't wheel it. A lot of people who installed their Dakar said at full droop the brake lines were really tight. To me it's better to be safe than sorry. On my pix where my truck is flexing I'm sure my stock lines would've have ripped apart but if you're just driving it normally then it may be OK. I didn't take any overload leaf off so IDK what to tell you on that part. My kit is the exact same kit as the Headstrong 887 kit with Dakar leafs...

Why would you do 885s with top plate spacers instead of a 887 or 888 seems counter productive

Maybe it wasn't at the right height he wanted when he lifted it. If I remember correctly 888's didn't come out yet when he lifted his truck. The 2016 kits released way after he lifted his.

Because I did mine right when I got it and no one talked about OME 887s at the time.

Haha that's cool, thanks, we'll I hope it helped you figure out your lift.

EDIT: I just went through the thread, and found yours. I wish I went with Dakars your truck looks great.

Thanks man you did. I'm sure if you knew all the info about lifts there is now for our trucks back then, you maybe would've done it differently or maybe not. Back then people were just experimenting since there was no really solid info about it.
