Duh - because the Tundra is the big brother to the Tacoma. And Tundra right now is racking up lots and lots of recalls. Big Time
Always good to know if Big Brother is taking a beating (quality build wise) same thing could happen too little brother Tacoma. In Spades

Thought this was a Tacoma chat board? Then I read the above and realize Foghorn Leghorn has left the chicken coup and manifested into 5465. Hey Foghorn - you go out tomorrow any buy yourself a 2022, 2023.Tundra and then follow up with a larger mailbox. Yep you'll need a larger mailbox for all those upcoming "recall" letters from Toyota. Cause your new Tundra is officially a BAD LEMON.

I wonder if the Land Cruiser/Prado and GX550 will have less quality issues because they were built in Japan.

    that would be very sad.

Lol you guys. Hamming up the recalls. I have a 2023 Tundra now, not sure what you are all worked up about. My Tundra is more powerful, roomier, and has way more tech than my Taco did. I have "no ragrets" for moving up.

So there's a recall. The 2016 Taco had a few of them, and IIRC isn't there one for the 2023s as well?

Nothing is free of recalls these days. It's the new normal.

JK, I doubt that the fuel tube recall is that serious, it involves a good portion of the trucks and it's an issue for Toyota, dealers, and customers. New vehicle ownership unfortunately involves recalls for various reason. That is a good looking example of a Tundra above.

The folks over at the Tundra forum also tend to complain a lot about "first world problems ".

I'm really happy with my Tundra and I think the 4th Gen Taco will have many, if not more, of the features that will make it awesome.

@NoOffRoad4Me you seem to not really like the new direction that Toyota is going towards. i get it. Maybe get a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd gen and keep that?

i think the new tacoma and tundra are great. Toyota made a great product. Sure, there will be small mistakes, but that is how we learn. :)

You are a wise buyer and realize those who rush it - could get burned badly. First by over paying and secondly buying a hybrid motor that might have bugs. But then again Toyota always offer a can or Raid with every new truck they sell.

Did they get a crank bearing recall yet or is Toyota slow-walking that one?

I wonder what kind of testing toyota did, if any, before releasing the new tundra to the market.

Slippery slope, during Covid Toyota officially announced they would be using and accepting less than perfect parts that weren’t visible to the customer due to parts shortages. My made in Japan 2022 4Runner trd premium had rattles in the roof and behind the dash, the brought in engineers tore the headliner off and the dash apart and their solution was to put felt. Another guy had the same issue and I guess his felt came apart and he said the rattles came back with a vengeance

the service advisor at the stealership I’ve known over the years even said they have been having tbose little issue during the Covid build years

lastly Toyota always built their engines for reliability not gas mileage hence with all Toyota trucks and suvs have poor mileage

this is the first time in Toyota history where cafe is forcing them to build for mileage not reliability and the tundra v6 is going into its third year and everyday someone new posts how their bearings exploded at only 20k miles

even look at the history, the 2nd gen has the 1gr that everyone loves, the 2gr in the third gen gets only 1mpg better on paper and pretty much everyone would rather have a 1gr than a 2gr and Toyota knows this. The only reason they put the 2gr is because they could tell cafe for the millions of Tacomas sold that 1mpg fuel saving is millions of mpgs across the board

This is also the 1st major redesign of a Toyota pickup since 2005 for Tacoma, and 2007 for Tundra. They made major strides in many areas with the 2022 Tundra, but of course there are growing pains.
It's all about how they deal with the issues, not that they have some.

I bought my 2022 Tundra with an extended warranty due to it being a brand new ground up everything

I like a lot about my grey whale. Towing is impressive with the engine and trans combo.
