I'm getting the bumper holes shaved at my buddies auto body shop next week. Maybe color match the grill bezel while he's at it.

I seen somebody on this board do a door hinge mod that mounts at the bottom of the bumper to affix the plate. I plan on doing this.

    Woohoo my 30th post!

The dealer that I bought from did not put the front plate on mine but they did put their stupid dealer decal on the paint at the top left corner of my tailgate, it stayed on long enough for me to get it home and peel it off.

I imagine that if you could afford one, you would have the money to pay the fine for not having a front plate displayed.

    just saying :)

This must be a state to state thing. I'm in SC and have never seen a plate on the front. However I guess I need to call my
dealer as I just ordered a new challenger and if he were to drill the bumper for a plate....I would not accept the vehicle.

I woudnt have an issue, I can just have it signed off. But worse is it gives law enforcement "probable cause" to pull you over, some say big deal, that will get damn expensive if you had been drinking. Jut saying.

in the end, our state has 2 plate requirement. it doesn't matter to me if they do or don't. even when I had a rear plate only state (GA) it didn't bother me to mount a front plate on my vehicle when I moved to a 2 plate state.

that's the least of my issues nowadays.

Although neither of my cars have a front plate, it is required by law in my state. I've drilled holes in hundreds of new cars. Anything from Cruzes to Corvettes, to Cadillac.

In CA the dealer is only required to give you the mounting hardware. You can opt not to have it installed but must sign a waiver.

Problem is once a vehicle is on the lot 9/10 times the plates are already mounted by the dealer and you would most likely need to have them request a vehicle without the plate hardware mounted already.

Most of the time they don't drill on the sports cars and give you the option...most everything else is drilled by the time you start browsing their inventory.

All the vehicles I see on the lot have them installed before they are sold. So that pretty much eliminates #2

Quit blaming dealers and look in the mirror. You "elected" the law makers.

Disagree. Been through this. Use to be that way. Depends where the dealer is I guess. Bought a Cobra babk in 03, Infiniti in 07. I signed a waiver but the guy told me that soon will be required to install plates b4 it leaves the dealers. My experience
