I treat her rough and beat her regularly but I perform all scheduled maintenance on time and buy her all kinds of expensive parts

I just bought a pristine 22 OR in Feb that was used with only 10k and I have been fixing it up as my hunting truck. Sunk 12k into already and I probably have another 5 to go (note 5k of that was a Alu-Cab top). It looks so damn nice now that I am both excited and dreading dragging it out to the hunting trails and getting it all scratched up and dinged. Since that is what I got it for that is what I am going to do but it is going to hurt the first few times cause I am a bit anal and OCDish. Once it is scratched up and I accept it, I'll be fine

I drive cautiously slow when Off Roading, and run it through the touchless car wash/with underspray right after.

    It's also a garage queen, so I'm somewhere between a 7-8

On your scale, OP, I’m probably at a 0. :)

However, I personally don’t feel like I beat the shit out of my truck either.

Hmmmm... 6-7. City queen, daily driver, red line when needed, garage kept. Wash regularly, wax once a year. All maintenance by the book or better. Light off road explorer. To the cabin cruiser. Prefer not to have pin stripes or mud caked everywhere. Maybe once it's paid off go a little deeper off road. I want this to be reliable as long as possible.

Haha, this is a great thread!

I would say I am at about 8. I really enjoy washing it, waxing it, driving it, carrying things with it. I follow the scheduled maintenance. Don't go off road and probably never will not that I'm against it! It's garage kept and I'm lucky for that. Being an Access cab it's only me and sometimes my wife in the truck so it stays pretty clean.

I'd say around a 4 or 5, real particular about maintenance but I use it alot and some is quite rough. It's a tool not a jewl.

All my work years I had cheap old vehicles that I fixed up, took good care of and got reliable service from. I could never justify making payments on something to sit in the parking lot at work all day.

This truck was a retirement present to me and is the only vehicle I have ever made payments on.
The intention is to keep it until the end for me and I maintain it with that mindset.
I do use it for truck purposes like hauling things and towing trailers but make an effort to keep it clean.

It sits in the garage all winter - yes, I bought a 4x4 to not drive in the winter. :anonymous:
My off road use consists of driving in the yard as needed. :anonymous:

Does this put me at 8?

With that said: It sure is fun to let this thing eat in 3ed gear getting on the highway! :burnrubber:

Yes: (maybe a "9"). You put it to work, you maintain it like it's your last one, but you don't drive it in the winter. That would cost you a perfect score in the Olympics because of that "one Judge" (we all know him/her) that never gives anyone a "10"... even if their spouse was running around in front them heaving 200lb weights at them.

I maintain my truck carefully - the grass on the other hand gets cut...
I'm not doing anything to encourage it. :D

    a 5 maybe?
I run it through the car wash not often enough, i do like to keep the inside clean though.
Usually i take it easy on the freeway but i do like to get up to freeway speeds asap when entering traffic, i have no problem running those rpms up to get there.
I'm only Rwd so forest roads are about all i get around to driving on as far as off road goes.
It's my daily and i'm not too concerned with scratches or dings. OCI and tire rotations around 5k.
