    Hello,

I thought I would post my experience with my 2017 Toyota Tacoma trd sport since I just purchased my new 2019 Toyota TRD off-road.

I’ll start off by saying Toyota is awesome and I wouldn’t of bought another one unless I thought it was a good truck. Now I used the hell out of my truck, I had over 60k and it was loaded with stuff and kids 7 days a week. I also am in the wilderness once or twice a week, that’s why I got the off-road because I wanted the locker I will use it.lets just say my truck gets well used.

    Here’s my pro’s

    Great ride
    Awesome looking
Great interior ( if anyone has owned trucks this can be lacking)
    Very reliable
    Electronics are awesome
It did everything I needed as good as a half ton
    Good power to weight ratio

    Maintenance I did:

Oil changes every 5k (even know they say change the filter and go to 10k)
Upgraded the plastic oil filter holder
Was on my third set of tires
Replaced my rotors and pads at 45k
    Recall on the fan blower
Leaf springs replaced and upgraded per warranty, “They squeaked”

    Cons
My sport was an automatic and it Lacked shifting ability when driving on the freeway
The sports wheel well covers that are painted get bad chips in them when you’re driving on gravel roads
The belt or pullies had gotten loud so a tech told me it’s a normal Toyota noise . I’ve seen someone else post on here about it. It almost sounds like lifters or something and sometimes starting it up with out letting it warm up it got louder until it warmed up. I don’t know...

My new truck shifts a lot better on the freeway. fyi I drive in traffic toooo much to have a manual...
Anyway that’s my experience so far.

    Regards

    A few.
Now that you have owned both a sport and now an off road that makes you qualified. Which one has a smoother on road ride?

True, I’m going to say the off-road rides way better off-road and that’s probably because of shocks and tires. I can’t really tell the difference on the freeway. It did seem that the sport followed the grooves in the freeway more than the Off-road does if that makes any sense.

He’s a pic of my new Taco

Also I had to throw in the lever action for fun lol

It’s a Rossi .357 my dad gave me a pre 64 Winchester Model 94 30-30 and I stupidly sold it because it wasn’t cool enough. I’ve been looking for a long time for a replacement that’s reasonably priced in good condition. No luck, and every time my dad asks me about it I just say it’s in the safe..

Anyway that Rossi it is hard to find around here too and the marlins that are JM marked are way to much and are really hard to find I do like those too.
