    Hi all,
First post here, although I have been lurking for a while on the forums.

Me and my girlfriend have left our home in Los Angeles two and a half years ago for a long overland journey through the Americas. We have now extended our trip into Europe and beyond. One of the difficulties has been finding parts for our Tacoma since they are only sold in North America.

Anyway. Yesterday the driver side mirror broke. I will need to have it cut. The thing is, I don't remember if it's curved or flat. If it's flat, I can probably have any mirror fit in there. If not, I'll have to resource a larger car mirror.

As far as I know, there is no heater element in my access cab. Or is there one that is on all the time?

I'd appreciate if one of you guys can look at your driver mirror and let me know of its flat.

    Thanks a lot.

Thanks for all the answers! Wow. I wasn't expecting a reply this fast. I'll find a mirror shop in the nearest town tomorrow. They don't use a Latin alphabet here so every mundane task becomes much more fun!

If anyone of you guys would like to spend time looking at some trip photos and videos tonight, feel free to see our journey blog at nonurbia.com

I'm guessing it's ok to post a link since there's nothing commercial about this site. It's just our posts on each country we visited.

By the way, the girlfriend is a wife now. And we have a 4 month old son made in Argentina, born in Austria. Also a dog adopted on a gas station in Ecuador. We all "live" in our 2005 Access Cab.

I wouldn't mess with cutting it, you can get replacement glass already cut to fit, all you have to do is get all the old out and put the new on with adhesive or a really good 2 sided tape. I dont remember where I got the one I put on my old chevy, but Amazon carries them.

What an incredible journey! Scanned through Mexico, Belize, and Bolivia. Will definitely go back and read through the whole epic journey. Beautiful photos and your stories are very entertaining.

After the shooting in Belize, I'm not sure I would have continued, but I'm glad you did and wish you all the best.
