I own a number of older RFR series as in RFR-2010 and RFR-2015

If Rockford designs are the same, these are expressly designed for sealed boxes and cabin gain for vehicle use.

Ported designs with these typically require very large boxes, unsuitable for in-vehicle use.
For example, my RFR-2215 require 6.0 cubic feet (each)

Sealed with cabin gain is ideal for vehicle use.
You can literally build any shape cabinet to fit your needs as long as the internal volume is correct.

I just completed the installation of Kenwood X802-5, 5 channel amplifier to the Skar Audio sealed box with a 10" Kicker CompRT 10" shallow mount subwoofer @ 2ohms and love the sound. I had previously upgraded the stock speakers and stock tweeters to all Kicker following one of the guides on this forum. My concern with your setup is the lack of clean power to the door speakers. It looks like you are feeding the amp only to the sub and it'll overpower your mids and highs. The Kenwood amp was small enough to mount underneath the driver seat and also has high level speaker inputs so I didn't need to convert to RCAs. My goal was for sound quality (90% of the time) with power to blast some bass (10%) while limiting the number of components in the system and retaining my OEM stereo to hide the fact that I have something different.

Thanks for the detailed breakdown! I actually already have my mids/highs sorted - running KSC6930s and KSC650s on a Pioneer GM-D8704 4-channel with a Kenwood DMX1057XR head unit, so everything's getting clean amplified power. The mono sub amp would just be adding to what's already a balanced setup.

Planning to run a Rockford Fosgate T1S1-10 (10" shallow mount, 500W RMS @ 1Ω) with a P500X1bd amp in my '22 Tacoma. Any thoughts on that complete setup or suggestions for the install?

Great to hear that you already have the mids/highs covered. I am a huge fan of Rockford Fosgate and it was the only thing I would run back in my younger days. I don't think you'll be disappointed in your choices. The only thing that gives me pause is that the T1S1-10 recommends a 0.8 cu ft sealed enclosure and the Skar Audio enclosure provides 0.6 cu ft of sealed airspace. You won't get to take full advantage of that woofer. The enclosure does come with a little damping material and you can add some more to help compensate for the 0.2 cu ft deficit if you decide to move forward with the woofer.

I do love the Skar Audio enclosure and how it just glides into the Tacoma without any modification. To avoid cutting into the back panels, I even routed the speaker wires through the baby seat anchor opening above the speaker box. I had to temporarily remove the back panels for this.

Update to my comment above. I just found out that Rockford Fosgate has the T1S1-10S (Additional S at the end) that is everything the T1S1-10 was but designed for a sealed enclosure. This updated woofer is designed for 0.5 – 0.75 cu ft making it ideal for the Skar Audio enclosure. I would get this sealed version of the woofer. I think you'll love that setup.
