Going with 265/70-17 falken wild peaks using stock wheels

Wanting to improve road characteristics mostly. Going with Bilstein 5100s and a tear AAL. I was going to 887s but I see a lot of ppl going with 885s. I don’t really plan on running any armor at this point. Was trying to stay away from UCA cost at this point. Any input would be great especially those of you who have sports.

I already have 61k on the truck so I obviously drive a lot.

I have the 887/5100's set at 0. I like the ride and the setup. I have the tire size you are looking at, I went with the Hankook Dunapros but should be fairly close.

Stock UCA, the ride is actually about the same on road if not a little better. Off the road It is a little better also. Night and day? I would have to say, no. At 61K you might notice a better improvement, however. I would definitely install the 887/5100 again. I have a 3 leaf aal in the rear and deleted the overload, bottom stock, spring.

Do you get any rake with this setup? I am going with this but worried the front might end up not leveled to rear

Obviously at 61k things aren’t new. I know changing shocks and struts will be an improvement. But if your gonna do it might as well do it. I think I’ll be 887 bil5100s and AAL

I have the 3 spring add a leaf in the rear with the factory over load, bottom, leaf removed. It sits about an inch higher in the rear when empty.

Well. 887s. Bilstein 5100s. Single AAL rear. Will leave overload in. I’ll be installing 10/20 after work Wildpeaks ordered. Wheels being powder coated on 10/18.

Advantages to working in a service department and having one of my master techs as a previous toyota master tech.

Other than all the great guys and times, I miss the discounted parts that were only an easy phone call away. The first time I had to pay retail for a set of brake pads I almost accused the guy of robbing me...

FWIW, I have a 2nd Gen DCLB Sport with 5100s set to 0, stock UCAs, and 887s, and I think you’ll be very happy with that setup. For me, it was a noticeable difference coming from a stock setup. If I recall, 885s and 887s have the same spring rate, but the 887s are slightly taller.

    Just my $0.02

I went 888s, 5100s set to zero and HS AAL with overload. Love the stance! running 285s with no issues
