I always do the top sheet of drywall first on walls , so does my drywall contractor

Professional to me means nobody would be able to tell whether you started at top or bottom, left or right. Don't drywall contractors start at top because they are waiting on the electricians to finish the wiring and receptacles down low?:D

Putting the top sheet on first gets a tight joint between the ceiling and wall drywall , helps support the edge of the ceiling board , aligns the wall sheets at 90 degrees to the ceiling and any discrepencies in floor to ceiling height is down at the bottom where the baseboard will cover the gap , that's why the pros do the top sheet first

Not hating on the OP at all , just an FYI

Sounds legit, I will accept that splanation. I thought we just did it to get the worst lifting out of the way first, lol. Of course I've never done it for a living so it was just stray projects here and there..........

For the record, all the drywall was hung ceiling first, top sheet, then bottom sheet. Thanks for the advice, it had definitely made it easier.

Smart move on the drywall hanging practice. But it sure looks like a bunch of stuff in the way of finishing it.

Btw, any particular reason you are using drywall? I'm building custom lakefront cabin and we are doing the entire interior in wood.

Fished wire up thru conduit into meter box - it was a bear but got it done:
    112f75616f9baf179d8c5266ebe9bcbd_98b2aa5dd670b7f7e8c7d8bbaecf4fed800e4c8e.jpg f369b1bebcb2abce1c99dd07a069060d_7c5500d8da36065c323aab78f304f64f36b9fca6.jpg
Got wire in trench and up into cabin. Need to get a wire clamp for securing it into the panel. Too dark for pics of inside when I was done. Get some tomorrow.
