I wasn't thrilled with the idea of an "open c-frame" that toyota put in. They could have run a box frame for the majority of the vehicle then have 24" "crush zones" for the open c-frame.

Definitely have the frame checked if they didn't do it.

plus given its the tow hitch that took a lot of damage, some reason can see that transfering a lot of energy to the frame.

Sounds to me like Geico is looking for a cheap fix, when their is more damage done.
I'd say bring it to the dealer get them to check it out.

He doesn't even know what he's doing and he's already screwed himself.

    So good luck.

everyone is saying to take it to the dealer (most dealers do not have on site body shops and contract with local ones). be advised that dealers have deals with body shops also, just like insurance companies. best bet is to go to a trusted shop that you know.
I've seen worse work from dealer shops than a good independent one. and any shop worth a shit will guarantee their work.

How did I already screw myself? The closest Toyota dealer to me has a collision shop where I'll be taking my truck in on Monday.

make sure they do a set up and measure. and get the printout from the frame machine. that there will tell you if theres any issues. (for the most part. crooked shops can fudge frame measurements but for the most part they're legit)

If the frame did get compromised get it fixed and trade it in or sell it ASAP . It will never be the same I've had so many wrecks living out here in Los Angeles. no matter who fixes it , just never the same missing clips or this or that or bolts will be loose blah blah
