Did you completely miss the last entry that says "operation when you approach the vehicle"? I've yet to see that setting anywhere in the vehicle settings on the radio.

tbh that doesn't seem like an outrageous offer depending on mileage. Its on par with KBB....hell I only got 500 for my 01 camry, granted it was a salvage title.....I hated the price but sucked it up because it was time to get rid of it.

Why would anyone buy a truck in the last, say five years knowing they bought it for it's reliability and longevity with the intention of owning it for a minimum of say 10 years, and concern themselves about the 2016? If they stick to their plan they are not going to be looking at a new Tacoma or anything else until 2021! If you have a 2008 Tacoma running great.....keep it. It will do everything the new trucks will do just as well.

Hell the channel in front of the windshield wipers is going to be a nuisance for buyer who have to deal with slush and wet snow two or three times a year. Nobody in the desert will even realize there is a channel there. I bought the 2016 for a lot of reasons and worrying about the channel got lost in the need for a dependable long lasting vehicle. One which my wife can sell at a decent price if something happens to me. Priorities change as you experience life. The experience led me to the Tacoma for my last vehicle. My wife can drive her Avalon for another couple of years then a Rav4 or Corolla is next up.

Check underneath the passenger seat and make sure the wire connections are not loose or rattling against something. I had this same issue after blasting the jbl sound system above 40 percent volume :).

1300 miles and a month of ownership. My only gripe is the transmission programming. I run in ECT mode 90% of the time now and love how it shifts in that mode. Wish I didn't have to press the button every time i start the truck to turn ect on

You go into settings under apps. Then you scroll all the way to the right and go into the vehicle settings indicated with a car icon. You go under one of the three options with the lighting.. There is an option to disable the light.. I'll take a picture for you and post it when I got the time to set up an account on a photo website.

Unless the limited is somehow different (unlikely), these are the only options

Otherwise I'm happy with everything. Much better than my 15 in every way. Tech is nice, JBL is awesome. No unusual issues with transmission hunting. Don't miss the drivers "oh shit handle"...I can see better without it,
I would like to have seen Hood Struts. But then again, I don't open the hood enough to bother, All of my underhood service is done by the dealer. I like setting the passenger side to unlock with drivers so my wife can get in before me. I like the interior lights coming on upon approach. Loved that in my Infiniti which also had puddle lamps. The mirror defroster eliminated the fogging quickly. 22.9 MPG without the tonneau was a nice surprise driving into hilly North Carolina to Winston -Salem

I am really happy with the truck. For $33K I cannot expect too much in the way of luxury but it has enough for me.

My wife's Camry has this feature, she loves the fact that before the opens the door, she can see the back seat and make sure the boogie man isn't back there.

Other Toyota's have the keyless entry on both sides, Camry Highlander....it's not safety, I would think it is simply cost savings....

I love my new truck !

My biggest complaint so far is getting my knees under the steering wheel when getting out of the truck. Not sure if it's that the seat sits too high or there isn't enough travel in the steering wheel tilt either up/down or in/out, but even with the seat all the way back, I have difficulties getting my knees under that damn steering wheel - and I'm only 6' tall.

Another minor complaint would be that some of the packaged options are only available with the moon/sun roof. I've had a moon roof in my past few cars and never really used them, so for me, they are just another point of failure that I'd just as soon not deal with. I would've liked to have had the JBL, climate control, heated seats, and most of all HomeLink, but none are available without the moon/sun roof or on a Limited edition.

EDIT - Oh, almost forgot, the headlights suck! They are nowhere near bright enough. It's a damn shame on a $30k+ vehicle that something as simple and important as the headlights has many people replacing brand new bulbs for something better almost immediately.

So far, I've been fortunate to not have experienced any of the issues others are having - trip odo resets, howling noises, hood vibrations, etc, but then again, I only have 600 miles on it one week short of having it two months.

What I like: 1) being able to control my iPod from the steering wheel controls, 2) having the infotainment screen!, 3) NAV is a plus, but haven't used it much at all, 4) being able to customize settings like which doors unlock and when and when they autolock, 5) driving it is fun and puts a smile on my face every time - the last vehicle I had do that was my MINI Cooper S with a bunch of "go-fast" mods!

No, I went through this a few weeks ago. There is nothing that disables the light coming on when you approach with the FOB on you.

I have the same issue with legs fitting under the steering wheel even with it tilted all the way back. I do weight train and have bigger legs but never had this issue before. I moved the seat back a little and it helped a bit.
