Searching through existing reverse camera anytime mod threads I wasn't really finding the answer I was seeking. I installed a rostra rev cam kit with the harness that redirects the signal to the touch screen in my '13 base Tacoma. Simple install except for the bloody pin/wire you have to put into the existing clip on the radio. After much fussing with it, got it installed. However, prior to final placement, I noticed that if the wire that goes into pin 2 isn't there, the camera wouldn't be detected. So here's my question. Is that pin the one that carries the reverse 12v signal? And if so, shouldn't I be able to apply a 12v source through a switch and allow it to turn on? Appreciate any thoughts and help. Hopefully, I didn't miss the info elsewhere.
