I had a stuck filter and the wrenches didn't work, tried this and it crushed the can further.

Used the old screwdriver through the can trick. But I do like this as well when the filter isn't stuck.

Still my fav is the filter wrench cause it's more compact than this.

My best tool, I'll never take down my pants in public.

 

those things always dent my oil filter. i got the band kind

 

Filter wrench? I have never had any filter I could not take off any vehicle with this oil filter wrench...

 

Are you keeping the used filters? If not, not sure why denting the filter would matter.

 

uhhhhhh instructions told me to use the wrench to tighten the filter back on. it said not to tight maybe like a half turn.

if thats the best tool you own i would hate to see the trailer park you live in.

the most useful tool I own is my dremel, I use it probably twice as much as any other tool

Fram filters are my favorite because they have grip stuff on them. If I can't get one off, I use my belt, which works really well actually. My Wife's car is a nightmare though. I just about destroy the filter trying to get it off every time.
