That's exactly what I said when we got back to his house.

I went through up to my waist on the pond I grew up on when I was a kid. We lost power for a couple weeks from a storm and were trucking up water to run toilets, and I slipped in the hole but luckily caught myself.

I only had to run 200 yards to the house and that was scary enough.

Was the OP temporarily stupid? Absolutely. Show me one person who hasn't been in life.

Is that water under the truck...er, bridge? Also yes.

    EDIT:

Yeah making assumptions off a story you didn't really read... that's a great way to make an intelligent contribution to a thread. Fail.

It's good you got him moving immediately. The worst thing to do in hypothermic situations is decrease activity. You gotta be your own furnace. Good on you for getting his ass up and going.

And? It's not like he's denying he made an idiot maneuver.

Glass houses and stones and all that shit. Get over it. He has a cool story because he's lucky, but luck counts. He learned from it. He's a Better Man, or whatever. His mother is proud. Etc.

Nothing specific, just the closest thing I could get to symbolize a whiny little bitch :)
