I'll agree there. If I bought any other midsize truck, I'd look into Canyon. Like it better than Chevy.

That's kinda where I'm at. I only have 750 miles on the truck but christ- the first long trip over 2 passes with less than 500lb cargo and I that Tacoma was screaming at 5K and not able to make the posted speed limit. I was shocked, frankly. I also tow on occasions (long distances) so this certainly has me wondering.

Like I said as long as it is under warranty I intend to use my Tacoma as a truck and within the stated capacities. If I'm not satisfied or have an inkling of doubt- away it goes.

I think with all the trucks they are selling, they already hit a home run, have you seen how long people are waiting for these trucks, definitely a grand slam. That said, I love mine!!!!! :)

As much as the duramax cost, I wouldn't pay it personally.

It might be 8.5 but the low end torque makes it feel like my 2011 BMW 335d twin turbo diesel compared to the Tacoma

You can get one for what the TRD OR costs if you know how to work a deal. In my case I have the hook up so I guess I'm an exception

Again, we'll see down road which truck wins. Personally, I'd have hard time giving GM any money after my experiences and people getting killed.

If I wanted a GM, I could have easily bought one, didn't want one.

Dunno I had a 2011 GMC Sierra Denali. It was a great truck never an issue with it. Just didn't work for hunting too nice and too big. Gas mileage was rough with the 6.2L and full time AWD tho... 16 on Highway. 10 around town. Didn't the Prius kill people

The big downside to a diesel is the high cost of ownership. If shit breaks (out of warranty) it's usually hellish on the wallet. I know- I owned a 3/4 ton 24v Cummins Dodge 2500 quad cab for over 12 years. I'd love to see the new Duramax out for a few years before I bite that bullet. Since my Tacoma is new- I have exactly 3 of them :)
I would if it performs to their stated ratings. Already I have doubts about my Tacoma's stated payload and towing capacities. One trip was all I needed to have those seeds of doubt sown. How much do I need to pay in order to get the Tacoma to perform? How many 'mods'?

I need a smaller off-road capable truck, not just a smaller off-road capable vehicle. If GMC delivers, so be it.

I drove a 1st gen for 15 years, gave it to my son, loved it while I was driving it, but I would never want it back over my 3d, just saying!!

I didn't feel that way at all. I barely press the pedal and smooth immediate power. Got my going without pushing my foot into the floor like my tacoma. Smoother torque curve. Not flooring it everywhere you go for top 1/4 mile time anyway. Driving experience More about the low and mid range power for trucks
