I take much worse verbal abuse in person while in the field. A few relatively harmless remarks don't concern me.

On another note, I now have a work related reason to browse TW!

Looks sweet OP. Although I'd go insane without an arm rest.

I'm still working out how I'm going to install the MDT. I think I'm going to rig up the old Havis mount into the flat seat back of the passenger seat so it can be folded away without having to remove it if I need to put someone in the front.

This was the worst part of the drive back from the service yard. I've since rearranged the center console to be more functional and I now have a nice little place to rest my arm where it doesn't hit any of the switches or buttons.

The auto inspector has mentioned previously that suspension upgrades aren't entirely unfeasible, as long as the justification is worded correctly. Anyone want to donate an Icon Stage 2 Kit :D?

As for the laptop mount, since the front passenger seat folds flat to give a nice work space, I may be able to find some solid mounting points inside the seat frame to hook the Havis mount to. Then the computer would automatically be out of the way when I flip the seat to the useable condition.

I drive a ram 1500 and would drop it in a heartbeat for a tacoma. The room in the quad-cab is awesome but I'd give that up for the smile from ear to ear I'd have driving a tacoma. Good move on the part of your department going with a toyota. My agency doesn't buy anything but ford, chevy or dodge.

Same here, I have a extended cab f250 super duty 4wd. Scratch the hell out of it when patrolling the trails and back property cause it's huge. After a long day, I can't hardly climb in or fall out of the thing. I haven't been able to convince the powers that be that I need some type of steps. I'd love to have a tacoma as a duty truck.

Any more pictures of the radio console?

Curious as to how far back the console sits due to the shifter.

Did they do anything special to make it look nice, or is there just a gap between the end of the factory console and the radio console?

How did they mount it? is this just a generic console they just drilled & bolted to the floor?

OP updated with a picture of the center console utilization and the custom rifle mount I spent half the day fabricating. The other half of my day was spent washing and waxing the truck because it was a government fleet sale vehicle and as such, no dealer prep cleaning occurred.
