I wish someone would have taken pictures: a tractor trailer came to my office to drop off a freight shipped item, took a wrong turn, and buried both his drive axles. With a short length of chain and a sun faded and tattered recovery strap, I was able to yank him out in 4 low. Fortunately it was witnessed by a bunch of school kids having a tour of our facility.

my Dad tells basically the same story with his 1983 Toyota truck. Pulled him out with winch and 4 low. Now that you've done it, I wish you'd taken pictures too!

In my department our CSO uses a GMC Canyon, it does well for CSO jobs. Our investigator's use the full size Ram 1500's, and they are terrible for LE, there is no room for a cage, just like your tacoma. Tacoma's in my opinion don't have a place for Police/Sheriff LE, other then maybe a CSO. I can see how they could be useful maybe on border patrol or maybe a game warden, someone who isn't frequently making arrests.

Still cool to see a tacoma with all that LE gear on it.

That rig is badass, I almost wish that I'd get pulled over by one.

I took a photo of the aftermath. The divots circled in red are from the Tacoma when I was yanking him out. The holes with the cones are where he was buried. His trailer was turned toward the left of the photo, so I was able to back right up to the pintle hitch on his truck and pull while the trailer continued to turn down the hill.
