If you could choose only one rifle for the impending apocalypse what would it be?

    Things to consider:
    1. It should be a gun that can be used for long range and short range. You never know what situations you're gonna get into.
    2. Rounds should be common and cheap enough so you can stockpile.
    3. Accessories! (lighting, bipods, scopes, etc)
    4. You can put down your secondary(handgun) too.
    5. Pictures are encouraged

Lets have some fun with this people!

It's just for fun man, you don't have to read it. At least I didn't say zombie apocalypse....

Honestly I was thinking more of one gun that I could use to compete in both short range tac and long range competitions, Apocalypse just sounds more fun....

I know it's not technically a rifle but I would want my Benelli M4. It's hard the beat the versatility of a shotgun. My back up would be my HK USP9SD with B&T suppressor.

For overall utility and the ability to add components, an AR-15 seems like a good choice.

I guess it just depends on what "long range" means.

The obvious sidearm would be a 1911, but your capacity is limited as compared to a 9mm.

Good thread. I am a relative newb. I am curious to read some of the other opinions.

Yeah AR-15 is a great starting point!

I think a 800-1000 yds would be far enough.

Thanks, I hoped people would enjoy it.
