We have a 2019 OR and a 2021 OR, it is a real pain to have to remember which smart key goes to which truck. Is there anyway to have one smart key work with both trucks. I know you can do it with a OEM smart key, but can it be done with an after market one?

Probably could be done but I would think there are simpler and cheaper solutions. Maybe buy a few different color FOB cases from MESO to make it easy to know which one to grab?

Mods? We don't need no stinking mods.
20210618_075425.jpg You would probably have to pay hundreds to get them re-keyed and re-programmed.

Different color fobs or just a little loop of paracord to match the truck colors would be much more efficient.

Here's how we keep they keys straight for our white Subaru Legacy and gray Crosstrek. (Yeah, the white one is nasty and needs to be replaced.)

That’s what I would do… if the trucks are different colors, get the matching fob
    Cases.. easy solution

Replacement keys are programmed in the truck's computer. All it would take would be to program one truck to recognize the other truck's Smart Key. It would probably cost $150-200 at the dealer. Or, you could have each truck programmed to accept the other truck's Smart Key (at double the cost).

The physical key insert would be a bigger problem, actually. The door, tailgate, and glove box locks on one truck would have to be re-keyed (physically).

I would be more concerned if I sold one truck, then someone would have a smart key for both of them.
