If you could tell Toyota, one thing to add to the new Tacoma, what would that one thing be?

Although I could think of several, let's keep it to one thing per entry. Make as many entries as possible.

Defrosting outside mirrors. You know, simple things that every other car over $10k has.

Power down we have, but all four auto would be nice. And that is not a huge cost either.

Don't you automatically lock your doors when you get in the truck? Why give a second to anyone? If you are moving, who is going to run up to your car and open the door?

x2. Perfect the cylinder shut-off technology used by other companies, resulting in the most efficient, dependable, and powerful mid-size. Like things were in model year 2005.

Cylinder shut off does not give you better efficiency. The deactivation only works under no load. When are you not under load? Believe me, I sold Chevy/GMC, Dodge/Ram and those engines are crap when it comes to cutting out a cyl. for fuel savings.

What Toyota has in their vehicles works ten times more efficiently, costs less and has a million times better reliability factor build in to it. Even Honda is copying it from Toyota. Variable or Dual variable valves is the way to go.

The way the econ/power/normal button works is by shutting off minimal power to the AC and steering components so they don't draw as much juice, letting the engine run either more efficiently or letting more power go to the wheels. It also either lets the transmission shift sooner to save fuel in econ, or hold the shift pattern longer for better performance in sport/tow. It also makes the steering more responsive in sport mode and remaps the acceleration for better performance.

This is the reason I say to perfect it first. I say to use that technology because I know Toyota will not implement something until it is tested and proven to not be a POS like some other companies. Perhaps that's why we don't have it?

If Variable or Dual Variable is truly the way to go, then I simply wish they would improve upon that technology. Thanks for your insight, this is off topic but why did the Tacoma not get Dual VVT?

Edit: Your second post sounds like something I would love to see. The rest (buttons, heated mirrors) is all stuff I can live without or mod with the help of TW. An ENGINE improvement is something I cannot do myself (reasonably)

That's no excuse, the technology has been around since Honda pioneered vtec in 1988. Toyota used the same technology on the Celica.

Too small, won't pass fuel/smog/MPG Federal Mandate specs. Same reason they are not making the regular cab any longer.
