There seems to be no evidence of this 7 SPD auto you know about. Where may you have received this information? Honda has been extremely tight lipped about any details.

Chris4x4 moderator on TW. He had a chance to check it out in person. No actually test drive though. Other then that he's been pretty tight lip about it.

He said he was excited about it, which says a lot coming from a mod of a Tacoma forum.

I don't think anyone here can say a Toyota product is more reliable than a Honda, they are both the best IMO. And if they both make a similar sized pickup that isn't ugly, we will all have a tougher choice the next time we buy a truck.

Defrosters on the mirrors are for safety. And I may be clean shaven, but I wear Carhartt jeans. Wranglers are skinny jeans for cowboys.

You're right that both are equally reliable. As long as Honda doesn't make the Ridgline ugly like the 1st gen then it is going to be a touch choice for me when the time comes to replacing my Tacoma

From their own site, explaining how the EPA does their testing.

I think it's a great idea on Ford part. Nothing like good competition for Toyota. The winner will be the consumers

Yes, from their own site, click over one more page there http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/which_tested.shtml

So the EPA doesn't test them, as I said, they set the parameters. I know how the manufacturers and the EPA work as I have worked on the manufacturer side at 2 OEM's now.

Here's one thing I'd like to see,,,,,,,, some detailed info and a fucking release date already. They will generate more sales by wetting our appetites than keeping it all secret and hush hush.

Explain this "logic" of yours. Sharing information too early will likely push people to wait rather than buy what they're currently building and trying to sell in the 2015 models. Or they'd have to turn on incentives to sell the 2015's.

Why do that? They know they sell pretty much every Tacoma they make right now with minimal effort. They know people will again line up and buy the new Tacoma whenever they release the information.

As i've shared before. Expect the debut at the Chicago Auto Show in February. Production Start August 2015, On sale shortly after that.

I don't get why Honda hasn't released the new 2016 Ridgeline yet. They cancelled production of the 2015 model year, and have nearly no inventory left. They can only benefit from releasing the info to the public, maybe people will hold off on their 2015 tacoma or colorado purschase for one.

Valid point and marketing strategy. That is exactly what will happen and such is business. Yet, from a consumers point of view ( or at least an enthusiast ) its way long overdue, and the same old horse ( albeit a good horse ) gets offered mechanically unchanged for another 2+ years? Some true innovation is in order, and you think Toyota corporate would feel much if any monetary dent in the R/D required to "innovate"? Doubtful. My argument is an emotional one not a business strategy but it carries weight with some.

I too am quite curious about what the Ridgeline will be, but also nervous about what the Ridgeline will be. It was unique in its classification but not a true truck in the truck sense. I think they know that now over at Honda and I look forward to seeing what they have come up with. Skeptical but ill be lookin'.
