That would be super cool but then we would lose the storage behind the back seats.

Yes! That would make my taco pretty much perfect.

The way I sit, the rear leg room is non existent.

    1. Disc brakes in rear. Toyota please stop with the cheap out year over year, generation after generation. Time to get with the times.

    2. Torque available immediately instead of power surge at 3500+ rpm. Yes we know rods, transmission and diff last longer with less down low torque but this truck is already neutered big time and well behind the game with 278 hp.

    3. Heated steering wheel.

My truck is a manual. Would love a manual transfer case and manual hubs like my 99 had.

Acutely would love something like my 99. A regular cab with all manual items like locks, windows, mirrors, hubs, tranny and transfer case.

Small V8 with a manual would be a lot of fun, a better reverse ratio would be convenient. Ultimately I'm satisfied with the powertrain.

From the practical side live with it daily side -- a taller cab for more headroom and better visibility.

Two things that I'd change would be first to have the transmission shift points improved so I could (or my kids when they're driving it) just put it in drive and not worry about putting it into S4.

And second would be to have rear disc brakes. I understand that the majority of braking is in the front, but it really is ridiculous in my opinion to have drum brakes on a 2020 vehicle. I mean really, how much more would it add to the overall price.

I see many folks wanting rear disk brakes however I can't recall any threads about the drum brakes fading or otherwise giving performance issues.

If you are loading these trucks heavily enough that the disks would offer better performance over the drums I would say you are way over the specified GVW of the truck.

It's a pita to even check the wear on the brake shoes, and getting drums off can also be a pita after the drums wear. Disc brakes are so much easier to work on. But not a deal breaker by any means, but dics are definitely better in my opinion.

All trim levels in 2021 should have Traction Control. Basic safety item.
Frankly, I wouldn't have bought a 2021 Tacoma SR5 if I had known. Almost every vehicle has that today!

The hand brake always seems to be a p-i-a with rear disks.

I just finished servicing the front drum brakes on a 66' Ford -- a little time consuming packing the wheel bearings but not a bad job.

I think y'all are crybabies about the drum brakes.

A $50,000 fucking truck should absolutely have better seats. The steering wheel height is also just poorly designed. I have ruined multiple pairs of pants on a set of keys scraping into the bottom of the wheel.

That said, my number one problem has to be the leg room in the back. Kids car seats these days are so massive I have to scoot my seatvup so my daughter's feet are not smashed behind me and I'm not even 6'0.

I am going to go out on a limb and ask for a better display for the climate control - pretty cheesy display on a 50k truck if you ask me

If by cover you mean the brake drum a shot of black paint will fix that right up for less than $10.

Passenger power seat so wife won’t complain about making minor adjustments while on long road trips.
