He was testing for Electrinic LSD on front and rear diffs, not traction control.

Problem with V8's in small trucks is they usually cost around the same as a 1/2 ton and get the same fuel economy. Now an option for the 1GD-FTV 2.8L turbo diesel from the Hilux is an option I would jump at!

I surmise that he is referring to his Tacoma in particular.

Heated seats standard. I'm an idiot and thought basically every new car these days would have them. I didn't special order my truck, put a deposit down on one that was being delivered to a local dealer and was disappointed it didn't have that when I picked it up. Sigh.

Problem I see with rear disc is that you are more prone on the rear of any vehicle to having small stones kicked up and into the space between the rotor and the splash guard. Instance nails on chalkboard screeching and scoring to the rotor.

    Check build thread!
I feel like this is under appreciated. Overall toyota made an amazing platform with many options, and they even listened to us and kept the manual. Sure, it's not perfect, but now a days having a car that will let you disable traction control is rare, let alone one that rides on a body on frame platform, with a solid axle, manual transmission and a naturally aspirated, easily unlocked and tunable motor

He claimed to be testing the LSD system but he was actually showing the traction control system at work. He keeps calling it LSD... it is traction control.

Surprised no one mentioned this one yet: I really wish the third gens had a proper J-shift for 4WD like the first gens did. Always went into 4WD the second you moved the shifter and did exactly what you wanted when you wanted. The electric shifter we have is just so finicky about going into 4WD. Other than that, nothing I would really change.

Larger cupholders or cupholders with removable inserts like in the 4Runner would be nice. I can fit my Hydroflask water bottle in our 4Runner cupholders but not in our Tacoma.

How about the skip controls allowing you to seek for the next station rather than just change which preset you're using. The presets are closest to the driver while the seek/scan controls are on the opposite side!

I just recently did a couple of road trips with a Ford Ranger that I rented. That has the 2.3L/10 speed combo. The Ecoboost motors are well known for their low end torque so comparing them is almost not even fair. But yes, our trucks are pretty high revving engines but that's because they're part-time direct injected and naturally aspirated.

As for the shifting, loads of complaints about that 10 speed as well. The more gears, the more it tends to shift. I found the Ranger to be pretty jerky especially when feathering the throttle. The shifts were only slightly more subtle and that has to do with the gear ratios being slightly closer together and the fact that there are more gears so it shifts more often.
