Looking to buy a Tacoma next week and I cant decide whether to get it with the TRD Sport Package or install myself to save a couple k? I've done it before but this will be my first Toyota, always a GMC's Chevy's before this.

    What do you guys think?

Install _____ yourself? Suspension? The sport package comes with a "sport tuned" suspension, but it's not a lift (assuming you're wanting to lift since you're posting in this thread).

If the only reason you're getting a TRD package is for the suspension then just get an SR5 and install yourself. If you find other TRD options appealing then go with one of the packages.

3 inches I think is a sensible height to lift to, im tempted to eventually do this to my truck, but my question, in your mind, what about spreading the wheels out 1 or 2 inches. Don't you have to counter the overall balance of your truck to keep from higher gas use? I think tacomas were meant to be hire, perfect toy trucks for us to play with and mod as much as we want.

Just got my 3 inch revtek lift in the front and add a leaf in the back installed for 350. I was going to do it myself, but I literally have zero time. I haggled him down from 450, so I think I got a good deal. Lastly, please no bashing of my spacer lift in front I do minimal offloading and believed that this was the most bang for the buck. :)

No one will do it in-house, some outsource it and it is NOT warranted by Toyota (unless you buy it new with it already installed and pay a fortune). I had Toyota (who sent it to a 3rd party shop) install my Icon shocks so I didn't void any part of the warranty other then the shocks not being covered now. My rear Icon shock just burst a seal on the trail and I was sent to the 3rd party shop for help. Aftermath is a .5in sag in the rear end now since I was decently weighted done with gear and had to drive back 10 miles with 0 pressure in the shock leaving the leafs to take all the punishment. I am hoping that adding the Icon AAL will help in the future with added bed weight.

Anyone have any experience with this lift???

Pretty sure it's just a spacer and block lift.

What are the front Bilsteins set at? From the picture, it looks like the front is sitting higher than the rear. I am looking at that same kit, and I don't want my front end to sit high.

That pic was the day of lift. One little problem...Big O put my spring seats upside down. Made the front about 1.5 inchs higher then it should be. Corrected it and heres how she sits now.

Any rubbing issues with those? I'm looking at getting a very similar kit myself.

Minor rubbing when I wheel. No rubbing on the street. Had to take off front mud flaps.
