Ongoing lift install price thread

Definitely a solid upgrade! keep in mind tho, you cant run this setup with stock LCAs. There is nowhere to mount a second shock. You will have to go with a Total Chaos LCA or something of that nature..

-Fabtech 6 inch lift w/ dirt logic CO's and Dirt Logic shocks

-Install & Alignment

for the same kit, wheels and tires, I was quoted 8600 at another shop.

and I also called another shop, same everything and they quoted me 7000 but I have no idea why there is such a big difference between the 3? is this common or what?!

I told the shops exactly what is written in the original post.

 

The shops you've visited, do they install lifts on a regular basis? If not, then each shop is gonna tell you different labor hours because they are unsure of how long it'll actually take. Plus drop bracket lifts do cost a lot to install. I suggest to search on here what others have paid to have the drop bracket lifts installed and go off those averages and maybe try to talk the shop down

 

Yes, the shops I contacted are lift shops and it's all they do. Btw its a prerunner not a 4wd

 

great looking truck. Are you running stock shocks? How's the ride? Any difference from stock height? Thinking of doing the same setup then upgrading the coilovers later.

 

Why are you doing a Drop Bracket kit on a 2wd? Why not do a spindle lift, then get the added height of the coilovers? I think spindles go as high as 4". Probably cheaper too.

 

im switching to a maxtrac lift now lol i get what youre sayin though...after alot research, the spindles seem like the best way to go

 

Yup. I have bounced back and forth between a couple lift setups myself.

 

Had my lift installed last week at Teton Toyota in Idaho Falls, ID. They did the billies on all fours, an AAL and OME 887s. The COs were not pre-assembled. For them to install the lift they charged $475 in labor. I also got all new 16" XD addicts with 285/75/16 duratracs. For the wheels, tires lift install and alignment they charged $2350. Sold them my trd offroad wheels and hankook dynampro ATMs with 10k miles on em for $600 off that price. Lift kit was about $600 from headstrong offroad.

Just thought Id share because I checked this thread a lot during my research phase. Hopefully it will help somebody! Loving my new setup, just wish I had done UCAs. Those will come soon.

Just got my first Tacoma. 2012 TRD Sport. Crew Cab/Long Box. Love it! Want to lift it and checked out this forum and thread and see a huge variety of installs and prices, so I emailed a local shop to get a quote and got the following back:

I have priced you out on two of the more popular lifts the first is a 6" fabtech lift for $3485 installed plus tax. and the second is the BDS standard lift at $3443.34 installed plus tax. we have tire and rim packages depending on what size you want to go with. You will not be able to use your stock wheels with a 6" lift. To give you an idea on a rim and tires package we have our 35x12.50R17 atturo m/t on for $1250.00 plus tax and install and our mayhem rims on starting at $169.00 each.​

This is in Canadian and seems awful high to me. Thoughts?

Was having issues with family stuff, couldn't get around to installing lift in my time frame on my own.. JBM Motoring in Orange, CA installed my OEM Kings (front and rear), Total Chaos UCA's, Deaver springs, Method Standards, GY duras, and a CMC for $620 out the door.. Great guys out there

Finally got my billy's 5100 installed for $100 labor in Lincoln NE.....Every shop I called wanted $351 and more. They all claim that it takes about 4 hours of labor to do just the front.

With new tires in 265/70/17 DynaPro RF10 and 5100 @1.75" the new look is much better.

 

When I bought my 2011 DCSB last November, it had a Toytech Boss kit (still in the box) laying in the back seat. So "free"....Installed it myself this past Saturday....Cost was limited to band aids (MANY) and lunch for my wife. (Not sure why, but I wasn't arguing...) After talking with a buddy who lives down the street, we decided to install his 3" Fabtech lift. (spacers front/1" blocks in rear) He found it on Ebay for $80 (and shipping) We started @ 6AM. We're done with left front corner, and have the right front torn down, ready to go back together. I get my lunch paid for by helping, so that cancels out MOST of the cost of my wife's lunch. (She had to eat at a more expensive joint that I need)

OK. Long story short. 2011 DCSB and 2012DCLB BOTH raised for under $100, parts included, half a box of band aids, and a few bux for feeding the wifey. YMMV.

Local shop quoted me $775 to install my kit. I said "NO FLIPPIN' WAY"

Same local shop quoted my buddy $650 to install his kit. He said "NO FLIPPIN' WAY".

Poor people have poor ways.

 

I had 2 new all pro UCA's installed along with 4 blinsteins 5100.

Got an OME Kit (Full Dakar Pack, OME Nitrocharger Sport 90021 Shocks front and back, 887 Coils, Taco Lean spacer, carrier bearing drop kit, ubolts for leaf packs, and Light Racing UCA's, front suspension pre-assembled) shipped for $1,635. (Headstrong Off-Road)

Local shop charged me $675 to install and re-align. They also had to grind down rear shock mounts because the 2015 brackets for some reason aren't the same as 2005-2014's.

Retarded expensive to lift a 4x4 properly... lol Can't imagine folks who install Icon or Fox with resi's on their Tacos.
