    Update!

So I pulled the trigger on the Icon stage 3 kit, front coilovers and rear remote reservoir shocks, the AAL, and the tubular UCA's. All of it is on back order though, should be about 3 weeks before they get the parts in. So it's the waiting game for me now! :pccoffee:

After this it'll be a while before I can do anything else on the truck, gotta get the money saved back up again lol

I had the Toytec OME-TAK installed with 884s, 4 Nitros, 2"AAL, drop diff, new bushing/hardware for 1350 installed locally. Alignment was an additional $70.

I'm looking to upgrade to the ICON Stage 4, can I expect that there will be any holiday sales from either vendors or ICON?

Here is where I'm at now. 5100's front set to 0, 885's, rear 1" Blocks and new U-Bolts about $500 and installed myself. TRD Wheels off member here $450, Spidertrax wheels spacers from Wheelers using coupon $190 shipped for 4. 265/75r16 Hankook ATM's $135 plus install.

A few students and I installed my previous set up at my college auto shop that I bought. It was the adjustable 5100's w/ Eibach 3" coils and a washer/bushing kit for $383.00 from ToyTec.com And the Camburg UCA's for $641.00 from DSM. 5100's in the rear of the truck w/ a 1.5" AAL also from ToyTec.com. After everything was installed we aligned my truck. Labor & alignment was at no cost to me. I sold the adjustable 5100's w/ the Eibach coils for $250 after being on my truck for a year and a half. I kept the UCA's and bought some Icon ext. travel coil overs. I installed those at the college auto shop also and aligned my truck once again. The whole time I've kept the rear of my truck w/ the same set up. The install was so much easier having a vehicle lift to raise my truck up in the air and all the correct tools including a huge spring compressor since I didn't order my 5100's preassembled. College auto shop = Priceless! I just bought some smooth body Icon 2.0 rear shocks through the group buy they're having in the group buy section. Saved me $68! New brake pads and rotors that I'm going to be installing on my truck this Friday Oct. 28th at the college auto shop once again. So I'll have a set of 0 - 3" Bilstein 5100's for sale as soon as they're off the truck! Look for them in the 1st gen marketplace if you know of anyone that needs a pair let them know. They don't leak and are like brand new. I just took them off so I could match my Icon 2.0's w/ my front Icon ext travel coil overs

I bought a boss complete lift and light racing ucas from Toyota city. The local shop wants almost 1000 to install and align. Seems like a lot. They just do toyotas and are very good. And they do it for the local Toyota dealer. I've never installed a lift on a Tacoma but I did in my jeep. Is this way too much money?

One more thing. I have the Trd pro 4 runner wheels, so will I need wheel spacers with 285s? I love the wheels and really don't want to change them.

I can't even remember if it was Bulldog, University or another place. Are you local?

Lots of info I've been sifting through on here, as a new-B its hard to determine what all I need. I have 2010 double cab SB sport. Looking to gain 3" all around lift. So far I've heard good things about the Bilstien 5100's, so looking to get those all around, but not sure if more hardware is needed to attain the height. Not sure if I also need to get specific springs? Lift blocks? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Also, not looking to spend more than ~$500 all together

Not gonna happen. You'll need (4)5100s and a pair of AALs for the rear so you're not bro-dogging. Do you plan to build the fronts and install yourself? If you're taking the 5100s over 2.5" you'll want new UCA's to make it safe at highway speed and not prematurely destroy your front tires. Contact @HeadStrong Off-Road and see what advice they can offer. I bought my kit from them around $740 shipped with front struts pre-built. Install & align was $400 on top of that.

I would keep saving and researching. If you put on 500 bucks worth of lift you will be pulling it off and upgrading in a years time. Thus wasting even more money.

Thanks for the replies! I found a 4pk of 5100s for 370, wasn't sure what else would be needed, so aals and ucas, gotta look up ucas. But as for the install, I was probably gonna use a mechanic I go to that does stuff on the side... Typically does work much cheaper than any businesses charge.

Sweet. Will you be using the stock coils or swapping them out? Some people notch up the 5100 setting with stock coils but I hear it's not a very nice ride, even for a pickup truck.

I will probably be looking into new coils as well... this is getting expensive!
