I can do it if you like. I've installed about 10-15 lifts now, so I know these tacomas suspension intimately. I just do work out of my driveway but I do it properly, torquing everything to spec, etc. If you're interested lemme know and we can work out a day. I charge reasonable prices too because I enjoy the work.

I feel you. And the freaking weather this past year has been horrendous.
I have a few mods piled up waiting for some love.

Just got quoted for 6112s and 5160s from 4WP. (5160s are not in stock yet)

$1149 for the parts (tax included) and $676 for labor (install and alignment) for a total of $1825 (including tax)

Seems really high. But I have never had a lift installed, so I have no clue what to use as a benchmark.

That’s really not all that ridiculous for a lift install and alignment from a shop. As far as the parts themselves, I don’t think that’s too high either but you can check around online. At the end of the day it could be a couple hundred cheaper but I’d say that quoted price isn’t unreasonable at all.

Its really not that difficult to install your own lift. I have zero experience working on cars, but I just installed my UCAs, front coilsovers and rear shocks all by myself (no extra hands) and it is completely do-able. It took me total about 6 hours, I could probably do it again in half the time. Only posting on here to inspire others to try it themselves.

Not only did I save a grip of cash, but I also learned how to work on my truck and maintain the parts. Plus you get the pride of working on your own truck.

One tip... get the truck on jack stands, and use the floor jack to articulate the suspension to help align all the mounting bolts.

Also looking for a lift shop in the SoCal area (Torrance). Looking at a 3” lift and 295/70/17 wheels, will probably require BMC. Bringing my own parts just need the labor. Any recommendations appreciated.

I'd agree that $1800 installed doesn't seem to bad. $625 was close to what I was quoted before I decided to do it myself
