Only 1 key? [2nd found at dealer]

Just notified by the dealer that 2nd key fob and tailgate key were located. Picking up tomorrow with my free bed mat..(part of the original deal)..

 

Have the manual trans (no push start), but like to warm up the truck on cold mornings. Can I make a second copy of the key that will just work on the doors so I can start with the computer key and then lock the doors with my "spare" door key so no one can hop in and drive off. I can obviously do this with the other computer key but would prefer to keep that one locked up as a back-up and not carry it around with me (or in the truck).

I noticed that there was only one key for the tailgate? Why is that ?
Seems stupid... if, my wife takes her keys and drives it... that set does not have a tailgate key, can't lock it.
Another cheap out by Toyota.... first its No rear disc brakes... what else ??

 

Yes even my sales person said she thought it was odd only one tailgate lock key was included.

 

You can make another key..My dealership made me another one on the house, it's gigantic steel key that has the weight of 4 keys. The dealers usually have a small dog tag with a code for the keys on the key chain...
