We should create a thread about this, so we can assemble a completely personalized owner populated database to send to Toyota engineers so we can fix this problem.

Alone we are but one voice, but together, we can bring change.

Yeah but Bilstein are my favorite...:pout:

Just on a side note. I have some Bilsteins on my Toyota pick up and they've done a lot of wheeling/rock-crawling and they're holding up great at about 12 y/o. I'm a Bilstein fan boy.

I like Bilstein too. Did not have trouble with them on my last Tacoma.

I busted two bilstein shocks on my 1st gen, wasn't the truck at fault.

Shocks can go bad, get it replaced and on to your next adventure.

I really hope smitty hasn't blocked you so he could see that post. He'd probably get upset and butt hurt about you talking about his buddy like that though.

If you don't like shocks leaking at 23k miles, try ICONs! You'll get leaking shocks out of the box, more leaking shocks six months later, and no one picking up the phone to deal with your warranty claim! They are better, though.

I honestly wonder if we're experiencing the results of the changes many companies have made since the great recession. I'm an engineer, and I know we are running with about 60% of the resources we had before the downturn. I know many other companies are like this. Could be a common theme across Toyota and its suppliers. Lean Lean Lean. In certain cases, quality has suffered...

I had a set of Icons on my 2009 TRDOR and shortly before I traded in my truck I noticed the passenger side was leaking. I never jumped with them but wouldn't say I was easy on them either. They replied back to me pretty quickly about warranty stuff when I contacted them through their website, I think I got a response same day. Unfortunately now I have a set of their add-a-leafs with no real intention of using them.

I've heard lots of good things about their products, but my experiences have been miserable, to say the least. Literally called their tech support three times in the last 20 minutes trying to get a warranty claim started. Rings, hold music, more hold music, voicemail every time. In my previous warranty claim, emails were never answered, nor were promised phone calls ever (as in, at least a dozen times) returned. Will try again tomorrow, I guess.

can't blame Toyota for this one. not even sure you can blame bilstein. Any shock can leak. Though, I've used bilstein's for years without a glitch.
