I don't go by trip summary although it is close on an over all long trip. I go by miles/Gallons.

My 16 Sport 2wd averaged around 20mpg over the 31,000 miles that I drove it. This included a good bit of city driving. My 17 OR 4x4 is averaging around 17mpg so far, but I’m only at about 3,500 miles. Gas mileage has always seemed to be all over the place with these trucks. My dad’s 16 SR5 2wd averaged 23-24mpg almost every tank. :notsure:

Here is another big reason mileage is better in summer. Warmer air is less dense and has fewer air molecules. This means in the summer there is less wind resistance which equals less drag which means lees power needed to move the truck at the same speed.

My 4x4 double cab sport gets pretty good mpg. I get around 20 on the highway at 77ish mph. Around town and all I get about 15 mpg. I don't know if that helps but maybe you need to compare your around town driving to your open highways driving mpg.

23-24 summer. Dropped to 20 since it's been cold.
    Dense air
Low tire inflation pressure=more rolling resistance
    Winter blend gas
Thicker oil, trans oil, and rear diff lube
    Long warm ups

I bet Dacon's truck would get 25.2 mpg on that winter gas you speak of.

I think I accepted this a while back. I'm on 285s and have the heavy ray10s, so that adds quite a lot of weight, and resistance. Plus there's my use of ECT which would impact the gas mileage. 15 or 16 is what I get too, and I got to live that as long as I plan to keep my truck. Yeah, no saving money with a truck bro, it's an expensive item to own and maintain unlike cars.

Four fill ups. Averaging 18.1 so far, but that's with more highway miles than usual. DCORLB. After upgrading from my SR5 Access Cab 2WD 2.7 5 speed, I was sure hoping to get close with the advertised MPG, but it ain't happening yet. Maybe after some break in time.
Definitely has me rethinking about those BFG KO2's I've been wanting, at least until I know that I'll be needing them a lot.

Got between 15-19 on my 2016 sport and once I hit 5k miles it went up, and now I'm never below 20. Most times now it's between
20.5 and 21.5 still on stock tires

    I drive like grandma...
In the morning I warm the truck for 5 min time I smoke a cig and have a coffee.
Start slow and build up speed as needed.
Coming to a stop (anticipated) I take foot off gas way in advance and let the truck cruise to the light (light on brakes also)
At light I put it in N and take foot off brake (let the brakes cool off and also prevent disk/drum warp, save gas)
Repeat. I get love signs from time to time.
If not my truck, I burn rubber, jam brakes, peel off from stop.

    Oh cold state problems.

My truck runs like a hot rod with regular fuel. Winter fuel, not so much. Double clutch season.

I’m live about 23 miles from work (almost all freeway commuting). There is about a 650’ elevation change from my house to the office. On the way to work (down hill) I average 20.5-21mpg on the way home (uphill) I usually see 16-16.5mpg... seems like the slightest incline really hits ya in the pocket. My truck is an OR that just rolled over 40k...

Owners of high HP outboards know this well. RPM loss in summer can be as much as 300 @ WOT. A bass boat that runs 70 mph in cooler weather may only run 66-67 in summer. Harder to measure MPGs in boat so hard to say about fuel consumption. Who really cares anyway when it is 2-4.

Hmm, '17 Sport DCSB MT - I average 22's & 21's in the summer and when it has been cold AF, getting 18' to low 20's. I drive mostly state NH roads at about 50 to 60mph with only 1 stop light.
