    Hey Guys and Gals,

So today I replaced my blower motor resistor. Let me back up. I knew I needed to change my blower motor resistor because I only had AC or heat on high setting. So I bought a new blower motor resistor from O'Reilly's last week. I got time today to install it. Part number 973-582. It shows to be for my 2014 Tacoma. After installing the blower motor resistor, I started the truck, with the AC off. Turned truck and AC on now on all four speed setting my AC blows at high speed. I'm confused.

My guess would be a brand new no good resistor.

Inspect the wiring connector that plugs into the resistor. Check for burn marks or shorts.
Replace resistor with a good one.

If you have a multimeter, you can check the resistance values across the pins to be sure.

Yeah I figure as much. Not the first time I've had brand new bad parts. But the first time I've had one do this. I didn't think about checking the resistance I'll do that in the morning. Thanks gentlemen.

    Stock for now...
I had the same issue in my new to me 2010. I bought the resistor and the blower motor. The blower motor was the culprit but I kept the new resistor just in case. Got all 4 speeds now.

I had that issue twice in the last month. Pushed on the connection back to all speeds, second time I removed the resistor, no issue there. The connector had one wire that was disclosed. I cleaned the connection and adjusted the connector so that it made a good connection with the pin on the resistor, so far no issue.
