Yup. Like that it closes and that piece can take some load. Not that I would be loading the latch but much beefier than a normal hook and claspe style.

They take getting used to, to open.
Safety part of them so the hook doesn't open

Do we have any plumbers on here? I'm adding some water filters to my home and need to go from 1.25" pex from my well to 1" inlet on my filters. Home Depot etc. don't have anything 1.25" and very little 1". Any suggestions where to get plumbing supplies like this?

Next plumbing supply or Nobel trade.

I've picked up a lot from the two when doing renovations.

Why is a hook needed at all? Just put a D-ring shackle thru the rope eyelet.

Good deal. Only annoyance is that GoPro intentionally made many accessories (for external power, etc.) incompatible with the Silver and White models, to funnel customers to the pricier Black model.

    Hmm yeah, good question...

    What Joe said...

Then if there is nothing securing the cable it may loosen enough to hang down and catch on something... :notsure:

    TBH my thought process was;
that I hated the hook sticking out the front when it was pulled in tight,
won't sit flush on the hawse without rattling or scratching something,
looked too "hey look at me" hanging off one of the front D-rings,
The hook is really heavy and pretty strong,
I'd rather have really strong and pretty heavy.
The hook also tempts me to take "shortcuts" to haul on something vs properly rigging it up.

I wanted something discreet/sit-flat that was strong, reliable and relatively cheep.

Plus I've seen a hook come out on a heavy lift before...
It took the helmet right off one of my guys head, just brushed his scalp,
Hook was nicely through the helmet holding it.
    Made about a 1.5" hole.
That kinda made us all pause for a moment...

You have two D-ring shackles on your bumper. Just put the rope eyelet thru one of them. :notsure: Hell, depending on the recovery situation you might not even need to undo the shackle - just pull the rope out and loop it around a snatch block.

Would anyone be interested in splitting the costs of a hptuner? Unit is $299usd The unit is used to flash a custom tune. Credits are $50usd a piece and 4 are necessary per truck.
