Gloss black on the back of the skewp is just asking for glare. I rattlecanned the hood with the same stuff I use to touch up my skids: 1 coat of Tremclad rust primer followed by 4 coats of Tremclad semi-gloss rust paint. It resulted in powdercoat-like texture. I might get it wrapped in faux carbon fiber later, but the lowest wrap quote I got was $380, which would be half the cost of the hood...

See, ive heard that alot in the anti skewp types (obviously you not anti skewp) but in 136k kms with my black skewped hood this glare has hit me exactly once, for less than 1 km. Im not buying the glare narrative

Anyone know where I can get scooped hood? Or know anyone that wants to swap for flat hood. Doesn't matter if its different colour I can paint it. I have 2020 Tacoma.

That looks like it suppose to be an actual functioning hood scoop. Is there a kit or something to connect it to the air box?

Not practical with the stock air box and panel filter. If I took the clear lid off my Volant intake, it could probably "work".

It looks like you'd need a custom airbox to make it work. More or less upside down from the stock air box.

From the website that air box looks like it uses a type of conical filter so that would work. Might make a good next project lol!

My Volant intake is similar but I'm not going to try it. One big rainstorm and the skewp will duct water into the intake.

Notice the capped-off second inlet on my airbox? ;) I avoided the Volant skewp for the same reasons.

I noticed the cap after I posted. Is there a cap on the back side too? I always thought it would be neat to draw in air from somewhere near the back of the hood.

No cap, but easy enough to add one with a hole saw (similar to the deck plate mod on 1st gens). On TRD Off Roads without the ABS module in the way, there's direct line of sight between the air box and the cowl.

I wouldn't mind finding a stock air box and try some mods on it. Change the intake location.
